This looks pretty damn funny.
No. Just no.
Hey look it's skinny Jonah Hill as fat Jonah Hill.
Starring Ice Cube as Samuel L. Jackson.
So how bad does Sony think this is gonna bomb that they're pushing it 4 months early?
Yuck! Complete dog shit
This is taking the remake infection to an all new low! And the original show wasn't exactly stellar, but it was a whole hell of alot better than this tripe. Why couldn't they just make a Knight Rider movie that fixed all the mistakes from the recent tv show?
Jonah Hill looks well, more like dying shit skinny than he did while fat.
I can't even make it through the trailer.
I haven't watched the trailer and don't know if I should. I will confess that while watching the original I developed a crush on Emily Valentine. She was in one episode. If I remember right did she handcuff herself to a roller coaster track?
I actually laughed a little (I'm buzzed so take that as you will). Comedy may be the way to go with this. It already looks better than that hunk of shit Miami Vice movie if you're going 80's-show-as-movie concept.
Why not just look at the career of Johnny Depp and the subsequent careers of everyone else from that show and then proceed?
Holly Robinson Peete was in it. She hung with Mr. Cooper.
Nobody wants to have an original idea. Original and interesting ideas are things that might lose money... so, as a result, no 1 wants to take a chance
So when did they jump the shark? Land of the Lost? Karate Kid? Red Dawn?
There are enough movies with original ideas out there. And considering the bombs that were Knight Rider redone, Charlies Angels redone, Bionic Woman redone, Green Hornet (which I liked), and Miami Vice, doing this as a comedy with Jonah Hill in the lead is a bit of a chance. Though, admittedly, I do have a kind of weird respect for actors who write as Hill did with this movie.
I actually thought the Bionic Woman remake had promise. Mostly because they went pretty dark with it, and seemed to be hinting that the overall story arc was a mad scientist running around out there with plans to create an army of bionic supersoldiers.
I didn't mind the Starskey and Hutch movie, but part of that could be that I never saw the original show.
Saw this tonight.
It was actually pretty good...
Yeah, there's a lot of hate in here for what was a pretty damn good movie.
It might not be an original idea, but it was executed very well.
Anyone still complaining about remakes needs to drop it. They're going to keep coming.
You have any idea who the drunk girl in the limo was? She seemed really familiar, but it's not on imdb
It's getting surprisingly good reviews. I still won't see it on principal (anti-Channing Tatum, not anti-remake).
I'm just sick of the movie industry taking old TV shows and turning them into comedic farces. The entire premise behind shows like the Mod Squad, Starsky and Hutch, and finally 21 Jumpstreet; was that the protagonists were of the younger hipper generation. Jonah Hill alone is reason enough for me to never watch this.
I gotta say, I'm damn surprised at how good the reviews are for this movie. The RT rating actually went up since the movie opened.
I was thinking about seeing it since they filmed some scenes at my old high school.
It'd be interesting to see what my old school looks like with mostly white kids in it.
