I've been hearing about this place forever. So happy.
Great place. Decent food, good crowd and buckets of beer on ice for not much more than you'll get popcorn, cokes and TNB in other theaters. There's always a nice mix of new releases, classics, cult films and fun shit like the Big Lebowski quote-along. If you're into MST3000, they do something similar called Master Pancake Theater. Turn off your phone and don't be a dick or they WILL throw your ass out.
Thinking about heading over there this weekend to check out The Hunger Games.
Both of those sound like fun.
That theater has been an eysore for some time. I'm glad it's gonna stay a theater and not end up as a CVS.
There is a similar establishment in Brooklyn that I've been wanting to check out (Can't remember the name right now). I hope more of these boutique theaters pop up. Try to give you added value for actually going to a theater.
Read it again. There's a no-darkie policy.
fact is, they (savages, youths, "those people", pick your euphamism) can't NOT scream at the screen, text & talk on their cells; they'll be bounced almost as they're walking in. Then it'll be nice, normal black & white folks enjoying a nice movie-going experience. Works for me!
Unlike the east 90's, that neighborhood is actually a bit upscale. Then again, The Beacon is even better situated, and they draw crowds from Bushwick on a regular basis.
