This is awful thus far. Its 8:34 and they just finished the nation anthem (which was terrible) and still have this tribute to Willy Mays before the game starts. This thing isnt going to end until after midnight at this rate.

Also, some schmuck had to hit a ball off a tee for a million bucks and couldnt get the thing out of the infield.

I knew it wouldn't start till late, so I'm finishing up a tourney in Tiger Woods '07. How far did he have to get it off the tee for the million?

It was something like 230 ft for 100K, 250 for 250K and 280 for the million.

This Willy Mays thing is a little much. MLB is trying way too hard to recreate the moment with Ted Williams from the 99 game.
I almost embarrassed to think of all the stops the yankees are going to be pulling out at the game next year.

Yeah they could probably spend 5 hours doing stupid tributes next year if they wanted. I figure the Yanks know people want to see baseball though and won't go over the top.

that was the last thing i saw before i remembered Eureka started a new season tonight.

Reyes led off the game for the NL with a single. Stole second, and then with two outs, Griffey singled to the outfield and drove in Reyes

They just mentioned that the entire AT&T park has Wifi...that means that someone could broadcast the game on PalTalk.

Since that would go against MLB's expressed Written Consent rule to broadcast, I wonder if they'd monitor that and track the broadcaster and sew.

Wow, Counting Crows last night at the Derby and Paula Cole for the 7th inning stretch tonight. 1995 called, I think they want their musicians back.

Really exciting finish. I'm actually kind of surprised Leyland left Rodriguez in after 3 straight walks though.

Being that I'm from St.Louis aside, I think maybe TLR should have stuck Albert in there.

But I mean who wants to see arguably the best hitter in the game at bat with bases loaded, bottom of the ninth, down by one, up against heat.
Nah, I'd rather see a gritty blue-collar Aaron Rowand fly out.

He'll say Alberts been there before, he needed to let others get their shot at the ASG.

"This one matters" - No it doesn't
You would think to a manager who thinks his team could be in the WS it would, but the way they managed it didn't really seem like it.
