AMC cancels 'The Killing' - again

The Killing was killed off once.
AMC canceled the series last year after two seasons. But then brought it back for a third season this year.
The police procedural, adapted from the Danish series Forbrydelsen, stars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman as Seattle detectives. The show got heat for stretching the resolution of the mystery in Season 1 into Season 2. Producers said Season 3's storyline would be resolved over the 12 episodes of the show. It kicked off in June.
But ratings just haven't been there.
AMC said in a statement: "We have made the difficult decision not to move forward with a fourth season of The Killing. We want to thank our great partners at Fox Television Studios, creator Veena Sud, an extraordinary cast and the dedicated fans who watched."

Jericho was cancelled twice, and there are STILL persistent rumors of a Netflix revival.

This is why I don't watch shows until they're critically acclaimed and media-darlings.
Aside from Lost and G/O/T I'll wait until you know they're going to last.

Good. After the shitty first season, I didn't care whodunnit anymore.

For a lesson in how to do this sort of thing right, see Broadchurch.

" ... based on a Danish TV series ... " was enough to make me write it off. Tried to watch a few other Danish crime dramas on Netflix and was quickly bored with it.

I wish that show would come back. It was fucking great. Kale was awesome as a gay psychopath/fixer.
Yes he was. Perhaps the only character who was a believable gay badass.

The reason it keeps coming back was explained in another thread. I believe it does fair in the ratings here but KILLS overseas. So, Fox "urged" AMC to do a third season and I thought the deal was sweet enough to warrant a fourth.

I really dug the last season. It was a damned nice change of pace from the first two season ones. But how long will it be on Netflix before the stars start jumping ship I wonder?

Its been 3 years. It maybe time to move on and let Rubicon rest in peace.
NEVER!!! If this piece of shit show can keep coming back from the dead like some sort of zombie, there's hope that Netflix will see the value of Rubicon.... The pacing was actually very much like House of Cards, so it would actually be an excellent fit.

I know it's a hopeless cause; let a sad man have his dreams, you heartless monster!

At least Maggie found work on Revolution.

A quick murder resolution on The Killing? Blasphemy. Well, hopefully that'll mean tighter writing and a better season.
Hey, I was right. I'm on the 4th episode and this last season is pretty tight.

I wasn't impressed with the final six. Still want them to bring back Rubicon. And I guess Maggie gets a "sucks to be you" for losing Revolution. :p
