In case you didn't know it premiered last night. Love this show. It's only 3 episodes but that's better than nothing.
As much as I loved season 1, I couldn't get through the second one. I thought the premise of the show had pretty much run its course by the second or third episode. I rather watch The Ricky Gervais Show on HBO to hear what crazy shit that Karl Pilkington has to say.
I kind of know what you mean. I liked Man vs Wild a lot at first. Something different each episode of the first season. Then in later seasons I'd notice it's on and think "whaa? That show's still running?" and when I broke down and watched an episode or two it was as tired as I thought it would be. Difference is, with Karl you really don't need a premise. He'll be doing his thing no matter what farce they're having him "do". That means philosophizing about insect ponderings, getting worked up in the way only he can, or flat out running for his life from various animals and other dangers. With Bear Grylls 'his thing' meant schticking up the camera like an asshole and jumping off of cliffs "just in case you might have to one day". Sorry for the awful MvW tangent. Made sense in my head.
I could watch Karl read the phone book and never get sick of it. Just the bewildered expressions on his stupid face crack me up.
