I watched the first episode of "Made in Abyss" yesterday. It's a fairly good natured adventure anime and it kinda reminds me a bit of older Japanese RPG games like Harvest Moon, Rune Factory or the Tales of series with it's twee but not overly annoying atmosphere. The art-style is also surprisingly excellent too with some nicely detailed wide shots and landscapes.

    Gonna keep watching.

The character design is kinda interesting. I get what you said about an old styled mixed with a sort of folksy RPG flair.

@Falldog see? It WAS a humdinger, and next week will be an equal or greater dinger of humming.

Seeing how they mapped out this season means they will end season 3 with the biggest fight the comics have had so far.

That's a good and bad thing because its a MASSIVE fight with a kinda sad ending.

He doesn't die but he uses up all his power and has to retire. Ending the era of All Might.

Nakaba Suzuki's "Seven Deadly Sins" To Be Adapted Into New Anime In 2018

This weekend's series event has revealed plans for new anime adaptations of Nakaba Suzuki's fantasy action manga The Seven Deadly Sins, previously adapted into a 2014 TV anime with a 2016 mini-series follow-up.
Along with a Revival of The Commandments TV anime scheduled to start in January 2018's winter season, a summer anime movie is also planned.

@NeonTaster you said you wanted a full series and not a mini series. Well, you got it now.

The costumes look the same but I'm not quite sure that's a good thing outside an animated medium.

    That was a great episode.

The comics have never really been clear on how Endeavor fights but this episode showed it perfectly. Man's a badass.

Also, NEW ART! Its pretty obvious why he picked this character to draw today.

I don't understand what happened at the end with all the red and black effects. Was that just shock?

I guess you could call it "killing intent"? Manga and manhwa (korean manga) love to throw that word around. His ruthless conviction was just so strong it froze them in place.

Here's how the manga shows it happen.

The manga's wording makes a little more sense to me.

@Falldog one interesting thing about the manga is he mentions reclaiming his "hero status".

That didn't really make sense to me till last week when the spin off series featured a person who appears to be the Hero Killer before his face became hamburger.

I've not read the issue/series, but I like to glance at the art to see if I see any familiar faces.

I mean, it's sort of obvious he used to be a hero.

I'm not sure I would take his word if he called himself a hero.

I can only assume he was an illegal hero (since its a series about unofficial heroes) which makes his claim of "hero status" even stranger.

How did he lose hero status when he's an illegal hero?
