Got a letter from Mel. Monthly subscription rates are going up. Again.

Thanks, Mel.

It's not much (about $1.50/month per sub), but at least throw some of the guys (Sam) some cash.

Didn't rates just go up a few months ago? What a scam. I would hope that after Stern's contract is up the rates could come down a bit but I know there is no way in hell that would ever happen.

I've been seriously considering giving up XM/Sirius for a while now; this might just be the news to make me do it. Whenever O&A aren't on, I find myself going to my phone for music more often than not; even in my car, I hvae an aux jack on my stereo and Slacker is a much better alternative than anything XM is offering lately. I can always get O&A on audible if I really need an O&A fix.

Yeah. There's no way rates will ever go down.

Look, I 'get' inflation and whatnot, but then again I haven't gotten a raise in ~4 yrs. So fuck Mel and his shitty fucking company.

So for the record what is a basic monthly sub with the new rate? BTW this is how I can I download the show for free guilt free. But, but Oaarchive! how do you experience new music? Easy, just search top 40 chart in your favorite torrent sites search function and BAM all the newest music for my iPod.

EDIT: Actually searching "billboard hot 100" yields much better torrents.

Yup... let my sub run out. Tired of paying for 2 radios..at regular price for both apiece...I asked when I got the new on if they had a discount for an additional radio..the service rep "bob"aganoushe said they fazed it out on new radios.

I always wanted to try the "call up and cancel but they never shut it off" guy but knowing my luck they will get shut off and Ill have to re-sign for some higher rate for some shady reason.

I called last month threatening to cancel and they gave me six months for $30... including Sirius, Best of XM, and internet streaming. I'll probably cancel after that's over.

Mel and Howie are looting SiriusXM. Stern will only leave if Mel gets shit canned or if the company goes broke. I will happily hand over $15 a month if O&A decide to go internet radio. I can record it and listen to it at night while I'm working.

But you're still getting Billboard Top 100.

I too canceled, and got the three months free and after that period I can call up and cancel again. With the rate hike I'll officially cancel because I'll probably forget.

$15 is too much. $10 maybe if they promise 4 hours 5 days a week. I just refuse to pay Sirius any money based on the degradation of service and entertainment value.
