The base Aero model is priced from $239,000, while the Ultimate Aero would cost well over $650,500.
i wish i was rich enough to not even have to think twice about dropping 700 grand.... that would be nice

Wow that thing is bad ass, looks way better than Saleen's super car.

Sort of off topic here, but do any super car enthusiasts know the name of the 3 seater where the driver sat in the middle? I remember seeing it on a Car and Driver episode years back but I can't remember the name of it.

? I believe your talking about the McLaren. But I didn't know it was 3 seats. I could have sworn the damn thing only had 1 seat right in the middle.

I think he should pick this up. Good for his angry drives to work and home through the city and for defending the home turf.

You are thinking of McLaren's F1. Still considered to this day the ultimate "drivers" super car.

As a side note of amazing things of this Shelby;

1) Runs on 91 octane gas, ie. premium for those of you that don't know. Most super cars require 100+ octane fuels.
2) 18 city and 26 highway fuel economy; fucking amazing numbers when you consider this car puts out 1100+ BHP and 1100+ foot pounds of torque.

This Shelby is just flat out fucking incredible no matter how you slice it. And in case you didn't catch it; with the 2008 gearing the theoretical top speed is 280+ MPH.

No doubt. It would be pretty embarrassing totaling the car by hitting a penny at 125mph.

Where the hell could you drive this thing anyway? A slight dip in the road and you're putting on a new front end. That's gotta cost at least $350.

The racetrack and that's about it. Otherwise it stays in a covered trailer that's towed behind a truck.

One NYC pothole hit at a reasonable speed would probably cause at least tens of thousands of dollars of damage to that car.

I'm completely talking out of my ass, of course, but that's how it *looks* anyway.

most of those types of cars have adjustable suspensions, so i would have to assume that they have it cranked way down to look even cooler,

going by the Veyron design, the Shelby doesnt really look like it has enough air intake to get up to those speeds in the 250 range...

id love to see the Top Gear boys get one of these on the Volkswagon test track and get it to hit 280mph... that would be disgusting

That ssc holds record for largest speeding ticket in history..... 244mph in a 65 zone in texas
What the hell is the penalty for that anyways?! I know in Virginia, if you're doing more than I think 10MPH over the speed limit, the VA State Troopers will sometimes yank your license on the spot!! What would they do in Texas for doing 244MPH? Just fuckin shoot you?

$1,440,800 - 4,160lb beauty @ 253.81 mph

or

$650,500 - 2,750 lb piece of crap @ 256.15 mph

Not to mention, with the spare $790,300 you have, you can buy a buddy the same machine... then with the left over $139,800 you have, you can crash Vegas for a fun weekend, with hookers, shows, high stakes rooms and two bad-ass vehicles.

Just sayin...

;)
