any opinions on this one? I saw it in the theater but i just saw it agian on DVD and I think MG did an amazing job.

He used the native Mayan language which was cool.

The city scenes including the sacrifice/eclipse stuff was top notch.

Since no one else has done anything even close, I gotta give ol' jew-hating Mel 32 gold teeth-up!

Got it on Blu-ray. Visually it's top-notch. I don't think any decent movie critic could pan it.

I liked it, but the whole wife trapped in the cave while it was raining part annoyed me.

Wouldn't she be able to float to the top and get out if the rain filled up the hole?

Saw it a few weeks ago and it was better than I had expected. That drunk anti-Semite really does like violence doesn't he?

The random timing of this thread reminds me of Gaffigan's bit on wanting to discuss "Heat" about 5 years too late.

Regardless, I liked this more than I thought I would. It was a tad over-the-top in its violence, but the Jew-basher knows how to make a film.

It's not ramdom, it's my netflix queue :icon_roll

As for the violence, I thought it was historically plausible. :arrrh::hamm::clap:

I was surprised by it. I thought it was a great movie. I wasn't expecting that.

He is a talented director.

You see Mr. Brooks yet??? :icon_eek:
That'll cure your homo vision of ol Costner.

I, too wasn't expecting much, but it roped me in and kept me entertained, which is quite difficult these days.

Did anyone elese here laugh at the bad jaguar scene? The rest of the effects looked believable but that scene just looked like a stuffed animal in the hands of a stage hand.
