Good for Philly Mag for not backing down to Mayor Nuttjob.
He's just as racist as anyone else in that city. That's one of the
reasons we moved out years ago.
The full statement from Philadelphia Magazine’s editor Tom McGrath about Mayor Nutter’s letter to the PHRC reads:
I applaud the mayor for asking for an inquiry into the state of racial issues in Philadelphia. The need to have a deeper discussion about race in Philadelphia is exactly why we ran our story in the first place.
Like any reader, the mayor is entitled to think and say what he wants about the story. That said, his sophomoric statements about the magazine and mischaracterization of the piece make me wonder if he’s more interested in scoring political points than having a serious conversation about the issues. Furthermore, his call for a “rebuke” of the magazine by the PHRC is rich with irony. This is the same mayor who just yesterday was shouted down by an unruly mob in City Council; now he himself wants shut down conversation about an important issue in our city. In short, the mayor loves the First Amendment–as long as he and the government can control what gets said.
My sister went to Penn....her Roommate was tied up and "r@ped" her Sophomore year in her dorm room..by a group of young people that broke into the dorm during Thanksgiving break. Look at most of the college dorms..LaSalle, Penn, Beaver err..now Arcadia, Drexel, Widner, Penn State, Villanova...et al they are like prison or castle ramparts. little itty bitty windows on the first three floors... Spiked Fences..some have razor wire...it's not for decoration.
i find myself unable to have racial discussions anymore because as soon as i try i immediately turn into the racist i am immediately called for daring being white and thinking i have the right to do anything but listen to what THOSE PEOPLE have to say whats racist and what isnt.
and i fucking hate the guilty whiteys who cry racism even before the typicals do.
racial issues in ANY CITY in this country will only get worse because we are always going to have the black people who run the governments of these cities somehow still crying racism. it doesnt matter for shit that THEY are running the cities, they will ALWAYS be victims of racism anytime somebody disagrees with them, or opens their mouth about that 'myth' called reverse racism, which we all know could never exist in this country.
you see this topic comes up and i go on a blabbering rant about it screaming at my screen
Gotta love the rooskies... they haven't been white guilted into submission, and they'll tell that shit like it is...
On a warm Sunday in October, I buttonhole a woman I’ll call Anna, a tall, slim, dark-haired beauty from Moscow getting out of her BMW on an alley just south of Girard College. Anna goes to a local law school, works downtown at a law firm, and proceeds to let me have it when we start talking about race in her neighborhood.
“I’ve been here for two years, I’m almost done,” she says. “Blacks use skin color as an excuse. Discrimination is an excuse, instead of moving forward. … It’s a shame—you pay taxes, they’re not doing anything except sitting on porches smoking pot … Why do you support them when they won’t work, just make babies and smoking pot?
the best part of the article is that it is true and not only do we know it, but they do too and thats the problem.
WE are not qualified to comment on what they do or the probs they have cause they are our fault
and the God damn russians are great when you get into a 'not safe for the paper' discussion about race
The guilt-burdened liberal defended the blacks by citing how they ONLY have an unemployment rate of 14% so the vast majority of they are working. Of course, he cites the standard unemployment numbers for people looking for work. The actual number of unemployed blacks in Philadelphia is close to 30-35% if you factor the entire population.
The guilt-burdened white liberal should drive through these neighborhoods and see who is doing the lounging and the pot smoking.
After Hurricane Isaac I had to do some work in a low-income housing area. Literally dozens of dozens of full grown adult black males were hanging out and griping about how they wanted power back and kept hassling me about when they'd get power back. I don't work on power utilities. I know fuck all when it'd get restored. Almost every person who lived in that housing complex had to have been there. They weren't cleaning up storm debris. They weren't trying to hustle up some work. They were just lounging and waiting for everything to start working again. And when they would leave? It'd be to go wait in line for gasoline so they could cruise around and go visit friends.
The entire time I was working I was getting pissed off because I could feel hundreds of eyes trying to stare me down. Anytime I looked over in the direction of anyone they'd be staring at me with a pissed off look on their face. As soon as I was done I got the hell out of there and hoped I'd not have to go back till after everyone had dispersed.
The only thing I hated about the article was what a PC disgrace it ultimately wound up being.
Two out of the four pages were praising this lunatic White woman who sent her little girl to a 70+ percent black local school.
What a fuckin' dummy.
Or the White person who got his head smashed into a brick wall and his wallet stole.
"They were black, not like that matters."
What? Like that is a fuckin' common occurrence with this guy? Like the Whites do that to him?
Once again Mayor Nutjob can't keep his fucking mouth shut:
In a scathing letter, Mayor Nutter last week requested that the Philadelphia Human Relations Commission consider whether the magazine and Huber deserved to be rebuked for the article.
Nutter said Huber ignored positive anecdotes "to feed his own misguided perception" that African Americans are "lazy, shiftless, irresponsible, and largely criminal."
