By 2013 we have a lot movies based on comic books/graphic novels. I considered the ones in part one to be the best the best. These are going to be the ones which are a notch below.. but still very good films. They deserve high recognition too.

Do you do marketing for DC or Marvel or something?

I wish!!! I'm just a big fan of the genre and loved comic books when I was a little kid. I just think that some of the most original story telling is done through comic books.

Hmmm, I'll have to Grok on this for a while.

That reminds me, I have no Heinlein on my Goodreads account. *sigh*

Just because you have 10 choices doesn't mean you have to use all 10. I think I'd have done Best Graphic Novel adaptation and limited it to Sin City, 300, V, and Road to Perdition.

Even though it might be the best movie on the list, I'm going to throw Road to Perdition out just because I think it's sort of misplaced genre-wise. I know it was based on a Graphic Novel, but it's a gangster movie and should be considered as such. Same with A History of Violence.

I think I have to go with V for Vendetta. It's the least faithful adaptation, which both costs it points and wins it points, because anything that makes Alan Moore unhappy makes me happy. It's really close with that and 300. Sin City ends up getting the boot because of no Jessica Alba tits, but to be fair, I haven't watched that since...well, since it came out I think. But that kind of says something about it too, right? Yeah, I'll vote for V, but could just as easily be 300.

Anyone that votes for the Crow or Kick Ass should be shot with a faulty prop gun.

I don't understand the anger, sir. They were both great movies.

History of Violence. Followed closely by V for Vendetta and Batman.

No anger, just wanted to make a Brandon Lee death joke. They're ok movies, but certainly not better than 300, V, Road to Perdition, Sin City, etc.

I'm looking forward to when we have to choose the best of JD Salinger Jr.'s Captain America, Dolph Lungren Punisher, David Hassellhoff Nick Fury, Bill Bixby Hulk vs. Thor, and 1940s Batman serials.

I have to say 300. That movie came out of no where and made everyone stop it their tracks. It was also a true comic to film adaptation, almost nothing was changed.

Road to Perdition (which I've watched 100 times at this point) would be my second, followed by Sin City.

This was a tough list. The lesser known comics do make some good movies.

I'm going to agree with what fandango86 about Road To Perdition. Great movie, but shouldn't be on this list.

I use to have to Sin City in my top 5 of best comic book movies. But the Avengers has taken its place. I would rank it now somewhere in the 6-10 range.

I saw 300 once on bootleg DVD and I haven't had a desire to watch it again. Not because it was a bad movie, but just because I can't Gerard Butler as any actor anymore.

Blade 2 is hands down the best movie of the franchise. Hell I think it was already on my list of top 10 ten comic book movies of all time.

Hellboy is pretty good. Its shame Guillermo Del Torro let his passions get best of him in the sequel.

I haven't seen the Crow since the mid 1990s.

I still don't understand why A History of Violence gets all the praise that it does.

Finally, I use to think Micheal Keaton's Batman was the best comic book of all time. That was until I grew up, began to hate Tim Burton, and Christoper Nolan came along.

So from this list, my top 5 would be:

1. Sin City
2. Blade 2
3. Hell Boy
4. Kick Ass
5. The Crow

Care to elaborate?
The movie was just too much visually and it overwhelmed the senses. Especially the big action sequence in the middle of the film. It was similar to what happened with Peter Jackson's remake of King Kong. The directors' love for their respective projects got the best of them and they went overboard with it.

so, you were molested and needed a hero to save you?
I was a pretty molestable young lad.. but I never had a creepy uncle.. so I was never able to enjoy that wondertful lifetime of therapy inducing experience.
