I am so fucking OBSESSED with Blue October. Justin has the most emotional voice since Kurt Cobain singing "Where Did You Sleep Last Night". I saw them at the Nokia Theater (the most excellent venue I think I've ever been to) a couple of weeks ago and I gotta say BEST SHOW EVER. Granted I was fucking shitfaced, but I kept coming back to the music instead of just enjoying a good drunk. I'm fucking psyched to see them in 2 weeks in Denver too. I'm taking my sister. She's also a fan.

If I ever got to meet the band, I could die happy. I bought the newest release of the live album w/Foiled. I'm so fucking spoiled now. When I hear studio versions I'm like "where the fuck is my live album- I gotta put it on"

Okay let's get this thread back on track. Are these like the other whiny bands that have become the new college rock? Actually it don't matter, I know I wouldn't like them. I need to get the new Common CD but it's too much in the store.

They are really a great band. Some of the songs sound like Disturbed light. But don't mistake me- they're emo.

Being an Austin guy I've had my fill of Blue October, now since Foil has blown up, they've gotten bigger than the mid size venues and doing bigger stages. Good for them, but sucks that I've got to get tickets for the large size venues and I'm always going for the pit (close to the stage as possible)

Now was this the tour with Yellowcard and Shiny Toy Guns? I'm probably going to pass on that show. And I've already caught them earlier last month during the Austin City Limits Festival. But I'd still recommend to check out their last CD History for Sale, "Razorblade" and "Calling You" my fave songs.

Those are very good songs!! I just ordered the first two albums- I have History for Sale already. FUCKING OUTSTANDING. I recommend the live album highly too. I've dl'd a few songs from the first albums- I can't believe they've been this good right from the start!! Goddamn I love Justin's voice.

dude' voice was better the first time I heard it, when it was Peter Gabriel in Genesis on the Lamb Lies Down On Broadway.

I still don't get it. People believe if it isn't Sabbath, or Iron Maiden or Motorhead it must be "emo." Not that it's so groundbreaking or revolutionary bands like Blue October were around a long time. For what they do they're ok. Not my favorite, but I can respect what they do.

Other than that, I guess back in the day people could call Simon and Garfunkel, or The Moody Blues emo as well. Just because it's slower or lighter or isn't edgy it doesn't mean it's specifically emo.

I've seen recent pics of Lynx & Lamb. They're kind of going through a bit of a teenager-heavy period right now. Not like, really fat, but thicker. Then I like at least.

We're still at least a couple years away from seeing them take ****** cock in some low-budget porno though.

A lot of music today gets mislabeled as emo, when it's usually nothing of the sort. Hell, a lot of bands that are labelled as emo are really more post-hardcore than anything else.

FWIW, I think Blue October's pretty good. At least, "Foiled" was, I haven't heard anything else.

Blue October isn't emo to me because of the sound, it's because of the lyrics. "I reached out with a razor blade, cut me. I freaked out thinking people didn't love me". That's pretty emo. Not that I care. I love emos!! Anytime I get to see a beautiful man in eyeliner shadow and mascara is good for me!!

Please don't turn your bf into a emo, it just wouldn't draw the "right" demo.
