“In baseball and basketball, when you have a best-of-seven championship, the best team always wins,” said former New Kid on the Block Donnie Wahlberg. “But with football it’s one game and sometimes the worst team can come away with a victory.”
Ahh yes, let's insinuate that the Giants are actually a bad team that just got a few lucky breaks beating the powerhouse. Yeah, it had nothing to do with Brady looking lost or a Giants defensive line that found a way to destroy the Pats attack. Play a 3-game series, and I'm sure we'll get the same result.

And let's throw in the "Famous Girlfriends Ruin Sports Stars" card. Ugh, desparation.

I'm sure they'll be blaming everything they can. But it doesn't change the fact that the Giants beat up the Patriots, not unlike the first time they met. But this time the Patriots ran out of luck.

When did the New Kids On The Block become fucking sports experts?

The Pats lost because they got outplayed, and dominated by a hungrier, and better team. The Giants defensive line was amazing, sacking Brady 5 times.

Well, maybe tomorrow while we are having our parade down the Canyon of Heroes, they can have Donnie Walberg and his butt-buddies sing "The Right Stuff" in an empty Gillette Stadium.

it just annoyed me like hell to see Giselle up in the box sipping on her wine and looking like she didn't give a shit about the game. no fucking emotion while her boyfriend is playing the most important game of his life. if you beg hard enough, maybe Bridget will take you back now, Tom.

Overheard a reporter asking her what it is like being at the Super Bowl. Her reply " I don't know, I don't even know what I'm doing here"

As a guy from Dallas who's had to live through the Romo/Jessica Simpson thing can I say this whole line of thought is utter bullshit? Since when is having a girlfriend/wife/significant partner (Jeff Garcia? laabagoo longgeedrr) in the stands newsworthy as to the quality of the guy's play?

Haven't wives and girlfriends come to the games for years? Did the basketball player who's married to the Desperate Housewife take this much shit? It's all fucking stupid newsertainment meant to get our stupid tabloid reading girlfriends interested in some other aspect of life they shouldn't give a shit about unless they really give a shit...

I don't care who my QB's fucking, I care how many TDs he's throwing! Stop giving my girlfriend this shred of information and making her think she has something to talk to me about sports with!

It may come off as sour grapes, but the New Kid has a point. No point bitching about it, though. Upsets are a big part of football, and always have been. The Giants went into all 4 of their Super Bowls as the less talented team and came away with three victories. They're truly the most blessed franchise the NFL has ever seen.

I think the article implies that the Giants were the more focused team. Between Brady's foot thing on his foot, Giselle, and all the spygate stuff, the Patriots lost their edge over the two week layoff. Saying that takes nothing away from the Giants, who had a great gameplan and took advantage.

I'm glad there has been a lot of focus on the Manning to Tyree pass, because their first two Super Bowl wins are remembered more for who lost them than who won them. With even most Giants fans focusing on 18-1 instead of celebrating their team's victory, this one may end up the same way, but Tyree catching that ball with his head will be the enduring image at least.
