Just picked up a six pack to give it a try. Its not the greatest drinking beer, but with a 6.0% alcohol content and a crispy light beer taste and finish, I could see this getting me in trouble in the future.
I wasn't a fan of their Cranberry Lambic. (Not necessarily a problem with Sam's take, it could be that I just don't like the style.) However, I do agree that you can't really go wrong with most of their stuff.
I only like Sam Adams Octoberfest and Summer Ale. I used to like their Cream Stout but they did something to the recipe or my taste buds changed because it is drastically different to me. The same thing happened with Pete's Wicked Ale, loved that stuff.
I will drink Bud, Bud Light and Bud Light Golden Wheat.
I can't get into the hugh content beers or barley wines anymore. I use to love Ommegang, Duvel, and Hennepin. I used to drink alot of Aventinus Wheat Dopplebock, Yards IPA, various Dogfish Head brews, and a few others.
Now I can't fuck with the really high content beers or most hard liquor anymore.
I enjoy Sam when I want a good beer that will stand up to a meal, but when I want to just drink beer to drink, I go with bud light. It is so flavorless it is like water. I might have to try this 'platinum' if I can pound it like the normal shit.
