I'm looking to build a new computer for the release of Diablo 3 and the system specs are pretty low. Is there anywhere better than newegg or tigerdirect?

Both damn good sites. I just built a pc using all parts from those 2 plus amazon. If ya check at the bottom of this page they just made several builds at different price ranges http://www.tomshardware.com/

The main thing is that everything matches. No use buying a $500 video card if the cpu sucks. Its only as fast as its weakest link. I just built a pc using the following:

    AMD 980 cpu
Nvidia GTX 560 (can always add another one)
    Gigabyte 990F XA-UD3

Ill get the part #'s for the memory, psu etc if ya need it. Plays Skyrim on full settings 1600x1200

I found a sweet parts set up on new egg for $355 without hdd because their prices are meh on those. I'm trying to go budget as hell for at least medium graphics.

pricewatch.com is good for linking you to good prices on most things. Otherwise newegg or tiger for me

Get a decent graphics card, like a 560 or 7950. Any processor with 4 cores or better will enough to handle the current crop of games. I uses Google Shopping Search, New Egg, Tiger Direct, Pricewatch, and Amazon.

They just released the high End 680, and nothing in any great numbers. They are having issues at their fab so don't expect anything mid-range any time soon.

If that's all you are planning to play on it then you could get by with an older dual core 775 socket CPU or Dual Core AMD X2 Proccessor. All you would need for a video card is an Amd 4850 or Geforce 8600 GT, if you can find one new.

A quad core + mother board is oddly the same price as dual on newegg. And I have a geforce 430 sitting in the cart.

What is your budget? Consider quadcores and 6GB RAM You will be running more than diablo 3 by itself at a time, aren't you ?

Yeah, I plan on 8gigs of RAM and a 2.6ghz quad core processor.
I'd ideally like to spend as close to 500 with monitor and OS

I just saw that tigerdirect has laptops of similar specs in my price range. Probably opting for one of those.

You should really check out Guild Wars 2, it's F2P and will be out by Summer. (I'll be in the beta in a few weeks)

Also, get 16GB of RAM. Prices are so damn cheap, just max the fucking slots!
