Can someone explain the latest Brexit vote to me?

So I assume the remain folks want to eventually push for another vote to reverse Brexit. In a way I get it - the complexities in leaving were obviously not made clear before the first vote. My question is - what happens if they vote to leave again?
At what point does the rest of the EU get sick of their dithering and toss them out?

I think the EU can use all the net contributors it can get, so I doubt they'd actually kick them out.
That's my take on it. The reason they haven't struck a deal is because the EU needs the UK in. Even in its diminished capacity, the UK is still a pretty big player on the world stage. No longer as strong as when they basically owned everything and ruled an empire, but still pretty big.

The UK is the strongest, most stable economy in the EU. The EU doesn't want them out...and it's exactly why the UK needs to leave, no matter what it takes.
