I've yet to find a Keurig coffee that comes one of those tiny single serving cups that taste anything like coffee should taste.

When I buy coffee, I go to a guy and buy whole beans and buy them in a mix of coffee-coffee and flavored coffees. Though I will agree that Dunkin' Donuts has very good coffee. Starbucks coffee tastes like burnt crap and 7-11 coffee, for whatever reason, doesn't taste so good no more.

Also, there is something very pleasurable about making a fresh pot of coffee at like 6 pm.

Agreed, but I go Turbo. I also consume enough aspartame with my coffee to give Kirk Strong cancer by association. Love me some Sweet 'n Low.

I still go Starbucks... It's not cool or hip, but it's the best IMO.
I, unlike many, love the "Burnt" taste and the fact that I think it has a TON more caffeine than other stores/brands.

I can drink 2-3 cups from Panera or that I make at home and feel nothing. But 1 Venti Starbucks, black, and I'm literally shaky for hours.

Don't know what to tell you but the darker the roast the less caffeine it has.

I also like Starbucks coffees. I think they have better flavor because they use better quality beans, and if you go to one that has a clover machine it will be a new flavor experience for you. I grind and press my coffee at home most of the time. Yes I'm a coffee diva but not a Starbucks loyalist. I just go where it's good.

They may use better beans but the distinctive ash tray flavor of Starbucks coffee definitely comes from the roasting... they friggin' incinerate their beans in the roasting process.

They do this for two reasons...

1. To appeal to the coffee divas who think harsh coffee = good coffee or "campfire flavor" = good coffee. It doesn't btw... it just means burnt beans coffee.

2. To make money selling lot's of whipped creme and, double mocha and pumpkin spice syrup, etc... anything to mask the scorched Earth flavor of their coffee.

DD FTW!

Goin' to get me a cuppa DD right now asamatterafact.

You should never freeze your beans. You lose the oils from the coffee beans and reduce the flavor.
Also vac sealing isn't that great either. You leave no way for the gasses in the coffee to get out, that's why the bags you buy in the store have valves on them.

The best solution is to buy small bags or if you want to save some coin, buy the big bag, pour only what you need for the week, and roll the top of the bag down the back and tape it shut, also store it in a dark, dry place.

partially correct, the 2nd reason is to upsell their espresso based beverages. The espresso is not burnt. As a matter of fact, I have had stronger espresso from local shops.

I haven't eaten a DD donut in probably 10 years... okay, every once in a awhile I'll sneak a munchkin out of a box I pick up for the kids. Love the donuts... but sacrifices must be made in the effort to age gracefully.
