Is there any place you can get a kind of profile on a comic, so you can figure out whether you want to go watch him/cunt/shim?

I mean, I look at some of the "local" comedy clubs upcoming headliners, and I realize I really don't know much about some of them or their acts.

Helium in Philly has listed Earthquake, Tom Papa, and Greg Giraldo.

I figure EQ will have a mostly "urban" audience. Not a date scene.

Tom Papa I have no fucking clue about.

Giraldo I've seen on roasts and on his own specials. He's pretty funny on the roasts, but I've forgotten what his specials were like. For all I know, he's one of the guys who brings out the knives for roasts, but does safe shit when he's on stage for stand up.

I'd recommend a YouTube search. Failing that, Wikipedia. Failing that, Cringehumor.com

Failing that... you fail.
