Politicians should have their throats ripped out and fingers smashed if they insist on wasteful law making like this hunk of shite bill.

I'm glad Congressman Joe Baca doesn't have anything more important to spend his time on.

Didn't the supreme court already rule that this would be unconstitutional in a round-a-bout way?

They struck down a bill that required m-rated games to be treated like pornography. The bill made it so if you sold an M-rated game to a child you could be fined or sent to jail. The supreme court also ruled that video games fall under the first amendment.

I say ban all violent video games outright and burn every copy already in existence. That should reduce violent crime by about 6,000,000,000%.

Tipper Gore did a lot of good for the music industry by having those "explicit language" stickers slapped on shit. I hope they do this and it boosts sales of all the games that have warnings on them.

Exactly. Those labels are basically telling the kids "this is something your parents don't want you to have and if you have your own money, buy it asap".

Yeah, we already HAVE those warnings. They're called ratings, and the video game industry does them voluntarily.

True, but how awesome would it be to have a label like "this game could turn you into a woman-hating, bloodthirsty maniac. Do not buy this if you care about your sanity"? Who WOULDN'T want to play that game?

Would that warning even be factual?

I have never seen anything that links video games or any other form of media to increased violence or actions specifically from playing that game.

The World Wars started in an era of bobbysoxers, 23 skidoo and all that silly shit. I don't really think media has anything to do with violence on a person-by-person or nation basis.

this guy is just a reincarnation of the same kooks that claimed listening to the Temptations and two piece bathing suits were destroying the youth.
