NEW YORK (NorthJersey.com) -- Police said they found an elaborate and disturbing child-porn chamber in the home of a Hackensack man who they said had enough illegal images to fill about 20 home computers to capacity.

Tangled wires connected a heap of hard drives to a 72-inch television, where Graham D. Hurley was able to watch the videos “in a huge way,” said Hackensack Police Chief Ken Zisa.

A fingerprint identifying system installed at the door of a second floor room was the only way anyone could get in and out, the chief said.

Police also found hidden cameras – tucked in air fresheners, humidifiers and a radio – that they said the unemployed Hurley used to spy on young girls who used the toilet or took showers, Zisa said.

Investigators said they seized hundreds of thousands of pornographic images and videos of children that took up nearly 1,000 gigabytes of memory.

“This is the largest collection of child pornography I’ve ever seen,” said Sgt. Andrew Donofrio, who heads the Computer Crimes unit of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office. Zisa said family members told police they weren't aware of what Hurley, 50, was up to. He is married with children, the chief said.

Police began investigating Hurley last week after receiving a tip that he was molesting a minor, the chief said. While arresting him last Friday at his Poplar Avenue home, they discovered the elaborate setup and called in forensic investigators to examine it, he said.

They are still working their way through the collection, a process that Donofrio said could take weeks or even months to complete.

“His collection was extensive and elaborate, not to mention disturbing,” Donofrio said.

Hurley was being held on a suicide watch at Bergen Regional Medical Center, pending a court appearance. His bail is $500,000.

He faces several endangerment and criminal sexual contact charges, among others, Zisa said.

The trouble Im having with the story is saying the average home computer has a 50GB hard drive.

The news tries to make it sound shocking by saying 'enough to fill 20 home computers to capacity'

Maybe 4-6

You can get a 500gb hard drive for like a $100. The news has to hype up everything I guess.

What the fuck is wrong with them? Isn't a fingerprint ID system and a terabyte of kiddy porn bad enough? The news is awful, it can't be said enough.

a terabyte is a lot, but not as much as it used to be....most full length films (not just porn movies!) come to 700MB at .avi resolution.

i wonder if he had some kind of front to get girls to come into the house and use that bathroom - hosting music classes or something.

but, yeah, the fingerprint-entry system puts this one on another level vs. run-of-the-mill perverts. i wonder how he was busted. anyone careful enough to build a "chamber" would probably be savvy on stings.

Yeah, you're right... considering you can go buy a TB drive... its nothing but shock value that the news is aiming for. Maybe 5 years ago, when you would have to stack 3-5 HDD per computer and then network the computers.

Hey you stoopid kid toucher, go buy a TB drive and transfer everything from all the single drives to it.

He may have been paul the perv, but edward efficiency, he was not!

Besides a fingerprint door lock is only $199 anymore.

What the news is saying is the elaborate set-up had $199 in locks and $600 worth of HDD space. Wow, what a criminal mastermind!

Not to mention, he had no way of destroying the HDD! He should have had them locked down and if they tried to unlock them they would self destruct with thermite or some other HDD ruining device.

This jackass was a novice computer user, didn't keep the kids quiet and invested less than a $1000 in his obsession.

LaHoo-Zaher.

He is a zilch that needs to die.

They did say how he got busted too...
