It's one of the great p&p RPGs and it's where the term was first coined.
You're saying the RPG game coined the term? 'cause that would be wrong

headache that comes with PC gaming
Yeah those days are pretty much over, bud. With Win10, and everything being plug and play, even people of average know how can run or even swap parts like a pro.

Even drivers are self updating unless you don’t want them to. So bzzzzzzzt. Try again.

The hardest drivers to update have always been motherboard drivers but now even those are simple "check for update" and "install".

PCs just get easier and easier. With M.2 drivers you don't even need power cables for your hard driver.

I'd say the hardest part of PC building is just making sure everything fits in the case and when to put your fans.

You are correct. I was in error. I thought the game was based on Bruce Bethke's book. It wasn't, it was based on Hardwired, released a few years later.

Stop dodging my question. What are the headaches of PC gaming?
Every computer I've ever owned I spend more time keeping it running than actually using it. I have no desire to spend my time playing "update the driver" or "compatibility patch". Good luck getting a controller to run without lag on an off the shelf machine. And that's providing you can get past the adware, that no virus protection can ever seem to stop, to actually get to the game

Why would I spend $700-$900 on a computer that I spend a third of my time maintaining, when I can spend half the money on a more powerful machine that works every time for every piece of software designed for it?

How old is that hunk of garbage you're using?

I can't remember the last time I had a hardware running issue beyond figuring out how to install windows from a flash drive versus a windows DVD.

Also, most programs auto-update these days. Don't you have avast free anti-virus? Everything is like that.

As far as getting games to run. All my problems with getting certain games to run happened years ago. Its become so streamlined in the last 10 years that a monkey could do most of this shit.

Fair enough. It's been a long time since I bothered with a home computer. My last foray was a netbook that, literally, became jammed with adware while I was googling the site for the VP. I never did get rid of it.

How do you watch porn? SOMEONE GET THIS MAN A DESKTOP!!!!

Laptops stink btw. Even a cheap web surfing/media desktop is better and has 10 times the lifespan. One screwy program and Laptops become a 10 pound brick.

Oh, so you were the problem, not the computer.

Fuck off.

I get the computer.

I take it out of the box.

I plug in the internet.

I google the site for the VP I wanted (I pretty sure it was Avast)

I start DLing the program.

Halfway through the DL my screen started clogging with Adware.

Even after I installed the protection, the adware was completely invisible to it. I tried every tip and trick i could find on the internet to get rid of it, no go.

So I shelved it and stuck to my shitty Fire.

Not sure how that is "my fault."

A third of your time maintaining? Shtaaap. My current build is almost 3 years old and I’ve had to do nothing since unless I was just bored. Some of my parts are 6-7 years old. There’s no console more powerful than any halfway respectable gaming PC.

Lag on a controller...nah. It should be whip-fast like your mouse. Adware? Have you not used a PC since the 90s? You’re talking like some old democrat lesbian talks about guns.

For starters, playing many games on console you’re limited to 30 or 60 FPS, which blows. Playing on televisions also blows for many types of games. If you play online games you’re gonna hear children on the mic if you’re on console. Console games are usually more limited for mods. Oh, I could go on and on....

Did you click the fake first link google always offers you? Cause it sounds like you did. I watched my brother do it once and then had to install spybot to fix it while yelling at him for being a dummy.

I doubt it. Contrary to my disdain for desk gaming, I'm not a complete computer dummy. I had computers consistently since the C64. About ten years ago it just became more time and money than I had to spend. I use a computer all day at work, so between that and smart phones it became unnessisary since console gaming is more fun anyway.

I do like poking you guys with a stick, though.

Fuck fuck's sakes, will you retards take your bullshit somewhere else and stop shitting all over the thread?

They were demoing it on a suped up PC. You don't, generally, demo on PC unless it won't work on current hardware. No one gives a fuck about PC performance.

So the industry assumption has been that it'll be released on PS5/Scarlett. That would mean late 2021 (for PS5).

Here's what the playable demo was running on at E3.

Pretty beefy setup but I'm guessing this is for maxed settings.
And this is without the months of optimization that I am sure are ahead of it.

I'm guessing they probably did 4k as well to make it look extra pretty.
That's my guess, too. Even if they were only running 1080 and 30FPS, with a few months of polish and optimization, those specs could drop significantly.

I'm not sure why, but I was sure it was the "cyber" part you objected to.

Computer gaming would be fun. But maintaining a computer is a PITA. I would rather just spend $300 every few years on a console that I don't use very often than $1500 every five.

Never spent 1500 bucks on a upgrade/build but if I use the machine everyday its worth it.

I also like when it comes time to upgrade. You get to shop around for parts and hunt down the best item for the job. Same with fixing a house hold problem or the lawnmower.

Its fun to work on shit....CAUSE WERE DUDES!
