my statement has nothing to do with the article but I truly hate DC
Their license plates are cute...
Used to live there and the lack of walmart drove us nuts. Whole foods was pretty much the only decent choice for groceries if you didn't feel like going to 9 different stores to buy everything.
1) Create a ton of jobs
2) Make food and other goods affordable, which will allow more residents to eat healthy
3) Force the many shithole sellers (the ones who supported this bill most) to either shape up or go out of business. For example, one store had all the produce stored bruised/rotted side down, but as soon as you picked an apple or whatever up noticed how bad it was, some arab savage who follows customers would bark that you have to buy it since you touched it.
Hard to believe that there's any public support to blocking such an overwhelmingly positive asset from expanding into DC.
I'm glad that he vetoed it, but I hate that he did it just to appease Wal-Mart instead of doing it just because it was the right thing to do.
I agree, but on the other hand I love that companies are finally telling places like this that they can go fuck themselves if they make it harder to do business.
I'm betting that as soon as Walmart opens their stores, this bill comes back up for another vote.
