sorry if there's another thread about this...

Is it just me, or are the nascar themed spots just fucking awful?
"Not what you expected" and the "dale earnhart jr" shows and whatever other ones sound like a bunch of hillbilly morons with microphones. the part where they describe the XM compound as a bunch of "boofs" with "microphones and stuff" makes me want to smash my XM on the ground. do they actually have anything worthwhile to say? i have to ask because I could not possibly sit through listening to these jakoffs.

all the other spots theyve run in the past were awful too, and keep in mind, they use "the best moments" of these shows to make the spots.
have any of you listened to these shows?

As a New Yorker living in Atlanta, I just don't get the nascar thing.
as Jimmy would probably say "ok we get it...you drive around in a circle, alright already!!"

things id rather do than hear those spots...
-a full hour of "tell em about the discount harry"
-piss blood
-smash all of my toes with a lump hammer

thanks...i feel better now.....

the thing is they make no sense to me, they take these snippets of the show out of context and never really complete. its like fragmented sentences and its supposed to ENTIIIIIIICE you to listen to the show? i dunno.. i dont care about nascar.

Just the way he says "booths" in that hayseed twang makes me want to tear out my XM unit and throw it at the next dipshit with a "#3 R.I.P" sticker on his car. :mad4:

at least they seem to have retired the annoying, self-satisfied
"Alyssa Milano banged all MLB players" spot...all right, we get it--she's a hot chick who likes men with big bats!

I dont understand these spots for other shows on the XM platform...like someone pointed out - the conversations are taken out of context and before we get any frame of reference whatsoever they fade it out. Who the fuck pieces these things together?

Further proof that jocks (and I use that term loosely) don't know funny. O&A say it all the time. Non-radio people can put on a great radio show - once. Ask them to do it daily or weekly and it falls apart.

more proof that Xm can't make these spots informative. they do the same with O&A but we figure it out since we are fans, imagine how non listeners are reacting.

Oh, I hated this one too. Just making a list of all the cock she's taken, so proud of it.

This is the worst part of the promos. You have no context of what they're talking about and they don't even get to finish the sentences. The whole ad department at XM should be shit canned because they obviously aren't bringing in any advertisers. (None above the level of a website banner ad or email spam anyway.)

Why would they care what channel we are listening to, as long as we're subscribers?

I've heard Ron and Fez ads on stations like ESPN and Fox Sports. XM ad department will have a whole show of hilarious, interesting and great to listen to snippets, and the promo that will run will literally take like the worst line, non interesting part of the day and use that. It is mind boggling.

Its kinda funny that these dumb hillbillys has made more money than probably anyone here. Takes me back to the time when i made fun of those nerds that we work for now.

Just like people in western states dont get O&A, most people in the northern states do not get nascar.

Most producers take the best bits of the show and put them in the promo... the last one is them commenting on how many booths were in the XM studios and how they were "derkerated." Sadly, that probably was the best segment of his piece of shit show. Why does XM promote their own shit so much? I understand selling ads to other companies, but when a break is five minutes and three of them go to XM programming, it's a bit annoying.

Even worse than the NASCAR spots:

Alright, SONNY.
You have no jurisdiction over me!
Jimminy Cricket!
Ah yes, Bud Abbott. It's amazing he's still alive.
My old man didn't turn me inside out.
Let's keep that a secret between us, SONNY.

How many times a day do I have to hear this shit?

"I have every song by sheryl crow, maroon 5 and faith hill" congrads you bitch that must take up about 400 mb on you computer. Big fucking deal. Do yourself a favor and get a floppy disc, download then onto it, flush it and go fuck you mother!!!!

I hate the way they'll take 3 or 4 totally out of context, unrelated lines from a show - not one of them more interesting than a grocery list - throw 'em together, and call it an ad.

You haven't been listening lately. Now, the Computer Guru (EEECCCCHHHH!!) is threatening her with the loss of her precious digital photos. Her responses just beg for a kick in the cunt.

She does not worry so much about the pictures. I'm sure there is a different man in each family photo and the kids are all retarded!!! They should pitch the service to the guys who have photos of her. I'm sure they don't want to loose them!!!!!
