Yo what's wrong with the beer we sell? The beer we sell drank pretty good!

Seriously - someone send that to the show.

EDIT: I tweeted them.

it means they're against it because they don't want to upset those who benefit from the current laws
Can't TAX home brew! That's the main reason. Second: THe "ABC stow" they speak of in this audio is a state owned and operated liquor store. Tax AND profits going to the state. Nice touch.

that to, but anything that threatens the current distributors no matter how minimal (trust me people who drink Bud and Coors Light aren't going to be drinking any home brewed beer) is going to be opposed

Oh yeah! I can imagine every single politician speaking out against this has already gotten an earful from their "constituents".

It costs a lot of money for a Budd distributorship - John McCain's wife's family has hundreds of millions from Bud money in Phoenix

There is a really good documentary available on Netflix called Beer Wars that explains how outdated and corrupt the current laws are

Health, Quantity, etc. shouldn't be an issue if someone is making it for their own consumption. None of it is any of their business unless they try to sell it.

They better legalize homebrewing alcohol or the racists will have nothing to do but start murdering more Blacks.

The ignorance of these elected officials is stunning. They don't know what they are talking about in the least.
Not to mention it is legal federally (thanks Jimmy Carter), and in almost every other state.
Also, no known pathogen can live in beer, so it may taste terrible, or make you fart a lot, but it won't kill you. "Healthy?" Asshats.
