How about a flat tax, then do away with the IRS?

I'm guessing this won't end well for the middle class.

Who are you kidding? The middle class is an endangered species, on it's way out.

Here's another novel idea to sidestep the pledge: make the tax cuts permanent & stop trying to play to the fucking occupy crowd.

What happened to that Super Committee and all their amazing spending cuts and waste reduction?

Until these fuckers do something about spending, I will never support any type of tax increase.

With a flat tax & no deductions, a computer could do the collecting and a handful of agents could do the enforcing... the IRS would be drastically reduced in scope and size.

That is, if we didn't need them to now manage health care.

It's OK though, because Chachi is ALL IN the Romney camp! He donated $10G's of that hard earned Happy Days cash to get the big man elected.

Do you really think that a plebeian such as yourself would benefit from such a conflict?

Thats what I've always thought. I'd love to have a simple 15 percent across the board income tax rate but there would still be a need for a collection agency to monitor and process the money. People are naive if they think we can do away with the IRS or something like it and just "have people mail in their 15% once a year" and be done with it.

Have you heard of the Fair Tax? It's basically a national sales tax. No IRS needed.

It would save a ton of time and money. Less IRS agents (without deductions, tax collection would be much simpler), and businesses wouldn't have to employ an army of accountants to find deductions. In fact, businesses might end up paying more in taxes, but overall it might cost them less because it would be much simpler. Government gets more income, and the businesses keep more money. Also with the reduction in the IRS, tax collection overhead would go down. Auditing expenses due to mistakes would be less, people would pay less penalties due to mistakes, etc.

There will always be the need for the IRS, or some similar tax collection agency. A Fair Tax or Flat Tax would just simplify the process & shrink the shit out of the agency, and take most of it's teeth away...kinda the opposite of what Obamacare did to the IRS

I've always supported a ten year (or more) federal employee hiring freeze. Consolidate agencies and move employees to similar positions within the federal government if needed, and don't replace the positions when people retire. You keep people employed and reduce the size of the federal government at the same time.

National sales tax to replace federal taxes with no deductions or exceptions. This would eliminate the need to even file a federal return in most cases. Even welfare parasites and Illegals would be putting something back into the system.

The flat tax is a crock of shit... its still an income tax that really doesn't change anything except collapse all the brackets into one. Big fuckin whoop...
