I heard the boys mention this briefly not too long ago, but it was glazed over and never really discussed.
If I remember correctly Opie said that he did not refrigerate his peanut butter and Jimmy said he did.

So what da ya say? Do you or don't you refrigerate your peanut butter? I do not.

I refrigerate after opening. Then the wife opens the fridge, gets pissed, and puts it back in the cabinet lol.

It gets too hard if I leave it in the fridge. I can't spread it like that.

Who the hell refrigerates peanut butter? It gets hard as a rock and rips your bread apart when you try to spread it.

why would you want cold peanut butter?

The grape jelly (or strawberry jam) is already cold.

You mean you're not supposed to finish them once you open them?

I used to refrigerate a lot more things; my older relatives instilled the fear of everything getting 'buggy' if it wasn't locked up in the 'icebox.' Even now I inspect the peanut butter a little longer than I really need to when I take it out of the pantry...

...a few years ago I bought a plastic container of oatmeal from the little groceria on my corner; it was Quaker Oats only instead of cardboard it was a plastic screw-top container. Left it in the pantry but was never in the mood to make oatmeal, until one cold day months later. Took it out of the pantry, unscrewed the top and started pouring it into the boiling water.... you guys remember Ant's story about the trash bags in his backyard a few weeks' back?

Still can't wash rice out of a pan into the sink without wincing the whole time.

Normally I hate shitty, cakey wonder bread, much prefer the chewy kind, but PB is the one thing I like on it. So no.

I now make my own peanut butter. Since it doesn't have any stabilizers in it, I fridge it so it won't separate. Before when I bought it. Jif!!! I left it out.

Why not? Sure, it's cold on my balls, but the dog likes it.
