Do you think O&A should have stayed late today?

They had a much larger than normal audience today, were getting attention (lots of new listeners) because of their coverage of the manhunt, commented on it and were aware of it.

O&A also have a huge listener base in Boston, who are stressed out of their minds and trapped inside.

This was the perfect day to turn it into an AFRO Show, stay on air, generate a lot of buzz, and prove that they care about their audience.

Instead they packed it up and went home after a shitty interview with a douche from the jersey shore no one cares about, textbook example of the laziness that is slowly killing the show and why they'll never have a real resurgence and expand their audience.

Nah. To be honest, it was getting to be too much. And knowing that we now still don't have a resolution to the situation, I'm glad they didn't drag it on for another 4 hours.

1) Did they have a larger audience? A lot of people were probably listening to the news channels.

2) They wouldn't have accomplished anything. I'm listening to the show right now, and there's not really any more information right now than when they were talking earlier this morning.

So, no.

Ummm no. The show was good today but what they were doing you can do yourself. Just playing a police scanner in lieu of doing a show would get old quickly and there are people looking for entertainment who dont want to hear that noise.

In all fairness, a police scanner is much funnier with Ant doing an obnoxious Boston accent over it.

Still not a reason to stay late.

They were ahead of the slow ass traditional news stations because they were pulling from social media, reddit, and had boston police radio overlaying the broadcast.

The available police radio feeds were crashing for most people, so a lot of people tuned in specifically for that.

It beat checking multiple social networking sites yourself, cable news, and hunting for scanner feeds. having it wrapped up in one package.

Could have kept taking calls from people in the area.

Taking calls is never a good idea. They suck. The listener interaction with talk radio shows should be done through Twitter, Email, or "Instant Feedback" so the show can pick and choose which ones deserve to get on the air.

They should have sent an intern out to get food
and sleeping bags. I think they needed to stay til
the lil ruskie is caught or killed. Fuck them and their
private lives and families.

Ant's pissed off Boston accent was fucking hilarious today. I think they did all they should/could have today. Though it was a much more interesting show to listen live, not repeated considering there was no payoff with a capture.

According to Spy, shit is going down now. So were they supposed to stay on the air for 15 hours straight?

Yes. 2 1/2 hours of Monday's show would consist of Opie attempting to do simple arithmetic and trying to figure out how many hours he should work next week since he was in the building past 10am on Friday.

Actually, they did stay later than usual yesterday. Too bad it was for a "Jersey Shore" nincompoop. When Opie was calling out "Ronnie!" I was hoping he meant Mr. Bennington.

they should have stayed until they cought the guy

done a real no sleep type of show

who cares, you could have got better coverage on the TV if they had live video

this just means O&A need a video element

and the Opster will add this to his reasons why

They keep screaming video element but it seems like 90% of the time they are commenting on a video that is readily out there to be found or has already been widely seen. On the R&F site they already post most of the videos they talk about the night before the Ibang site.

Almost as riveting as watching the ustream feed where the guy actually had a camera pointed at the radio scanner on his desk.
