I am from Jersey, always had a cold Holiday Season so I wouldn't know. But I agree if it ain't cold and/or snowing around Christmas time it doesn't count. I have been to California, Florida and Vegas around the Holidays before and it doesn't seem the same.

It's not usually warm here then, but yes. A few years ago we got snow that stuck on the ground for the first time I've ever seen and it was awesome on christmas. The next year it was like high 60s, highest I remember it ever being, and that sucked. Cold weather puts me in a great mood.

My wife grew up in Louisiana and hated christmas. When she moved up here to Michigan, she now loves it.

I dont think its as much christmas day, as it is, there is just something that feels right about wearing gloves to go look at christmas trees, and going from store to store in the cold weather, etc.

I'm dreaming of a wet Christmas. Rain for the holidays is lame. Ohhh, lets all go mudding, and have a dirt clod fight.

Thanks to an Inconvenient Truth, there wouldn't be warm weather in the winter time, unless you live in Australia.

I was considering moving to Dallas for a short (very short) time. I visited the area in December, and I saw Christmas decorations on houses when it was 60 degrees and there were tumbleweeds blowing across the plains.

It made me very sad. :icon_cry:

There is nothing like Christmas time in NYC... it's magic. At least, those are my childhood memories.

Last year it was ridiculously overcrowded around Rockefeller Center, but this year... given the weak dollar, and strong Euro, it's going to be a zoo.

70 degrees on christmas does suck. But the next 14 weeks of January through March, which includes two weeks of Mardi Gras, all in the 60's or better, makes up for it.

I spent Christmas in Daytona one year and thought it was great ... I hate the snow, I hate the cold, it was 65 degrees just about the entire week and I was happy. It was a little weird seeing palm trees decorated but I got used to it real quick.

I was at Disneyworld last year at this time, and it was weird to hear xmas music and see all of disney decorated when it was 75 outside.

I love the fact that I live in Alberta, where it's -20 and 3 feet of snow come xmas time.

I've lived in Tucson most my life, and I never minded Christmas morning being able to hop on my new bike without taking ten minutes to get wrapped up in warm clothes. Then again I've been in my hometown in Kansas and being able to make a snowman. So I guess I go both ways.

I've lived in NYC my whole life. All I know is that I'd feel really weird in a warm state on christmas or thanksgiving.

Doesn't matter to me, I usually spend it by myself. I work too much that I could care less about most holidays.

20 years in jersey/nyc, the other 20 years in new orleans,
can't beat christmas up north, except for a couple of years
ago where it actually snowed in new orleans, really close to x-mas.
