I totally support Opie. When has the show ever cowered in fear of the company? Was the show successful because the show listened to management? I understand Ant wants to keep the show on the CBS stations, but, at what price? Citadel clearly has an interest in the show and the Citadel stations they are on seem to be doing well. I know they're not in all the major markets, but, CBS isn't the end all be all.

CBS is all they'll have after the merger.

I don't understand WYSP. Or Detroit. Or Chicago. Or XM.

Support for the show is becoming a dwindling pipe-dream. O&A always win, but something needs to happen. Both Satellite and Terrestrial seem to be out of touch, irrelevant douchebags.

Well, when "fans" start undermining a whole platform (FM) it really hurts the ONA show. I don't get the "fans" who want the FM side to die. XM is DONE after the merger.

Does anyone have an address for WYSP in Philly? I'd like to send the PD an empty douchebag to show my displeasure in his move to remove O&A.

So you are saying O&A won't be on XM after the merger?

I'm thinking CBS has way, way more money than Citadel.

I have to agree. That's why I bit my tongue and went back to subscribing on XM. On FBA I got into a discussion about why canceling will ultimately do more damage to O&A than hurt XM. I can see the opposing point now (at least why I should re-sub). With this merger thing looming. I think it's more important to stand up and be counted as an O&A fan so that they will always have a home on Satellite no matter who owns the company.

Tell that to the person who incited the "cancel" riots. Funny he was the voice of reason with CBS today...

The problem with the whole "radio" biz... both sat and FM... is that they don't seem to follow the money. It's bizarre... unlike every other form of business on the planet, which are all out to make a buck wherever and however they can get it, radio, specifically radio execs are motivated by... by... who the fuck knows what... Pride? Jealousy? Rampant egos? Whatever it is, it sure the fuck doesn't seem to be money, and/or the desire to turn a profit. It's like they WANT their stations to fail. The decisions they make, the shit they pull and the retarded bassackwards way they pull it... it's fucking puzzling... it's like they can't help themselves... they just have to fuck things up. They take a perfectly good, functioning product, and they keep poking, and tweaking, and twisting until they're left with a pile of shit.

Radio is like the short bus of the entertainment industry.

I repsect Opie's rant today but I think he needs to respect the other half of the show's view as well. Even after it was over there were a few more pokes which I thought was uncalled for. Oh well, Opie just had a rough day.
