Some black folks are upset that King Tut wasn't black and that Egypt wasn't a black culture.
CAIRO (AFP) - Egyptian antiquities supremo Zahi Hawass insisted Tuesday that Tutankhamun was not black despite calls by US black activists to recognise the boy king's dark skin colour.

"Tutankhamun was not black, and the portrayal of ancient Egyptian civilisation as black has no element of truth to it," Hawass told reporters.

"Egyptians are not Arabs and are not Africans despite the fact that Egypt is in Africa," he said, quoted by the official MENA news agency.

Hawass said he was responding to several demonstrations in Philadelphia after a lecture he gave there on September 6 where he defended his theory.

Protestors also claimed images of King Tut were altered to show him with lighter skin at the "Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" exhibit which leaves Philadelphia for London on September 30.

The exhibition sparked an uproar when it kicked off in Los Angeles in June 2005 when black activists demanded that a bust of the boy king be removed because the statue portrays him as white.

The face of the legendary pharaoh, who died around 3,300 years ago at the age of just 19, was reconstructed in 2005 through images collected through CAT scans of his mummy.

The boy king's intact tomb caused an international sensation when it was discovered by Briton Howard Carter in 1922 near Luxor in southern Egypt.

George James, a follower of black nationalist leader Marcus Garvey, who emphasized the importance of Ethiopia as a great, "black civilization", and who argued that Black peoples should develop pride in African history. James's book, Stolen Legacy (1954) is often cited as one of the foundational texts of Afrocentrism. James claimed that Greek philosophy was "stolen" from ancient Egyptian traditions and that these had developed from distinctively "African" cultural roots. For James, the works of Aristotle and other Greek thinkers were, in fact, poor synopses of aspects of ancient Egyptian wisdom. According to James, the Greeks were a violent and quarrelsome people, unlike the Egyptians, and were not naturally capable of philosophy. James famously claimed in his book that Aristotle had physically "stolen" his ideas and works from a "African" Library of Alexandria, when, in fact, the Library of Alexandria was built by Greeks, during the Hellenistic period of Egypt, and well after Aristotle's death. African American activist Al Sharpton was quoted as saying at Kean College in 1994 that “White folks was in caves while we was building empires... We taught philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos ever got around to it.”[2]

Al Sharpton must be pissed off.

A little known fact, the first few pharaohs are buried in Ireland. Some people even believe that they originally came from there.

Along the same lines, let's not forget that Jesus was black because "he called everybody 'brother', liked Gospel, and couldn't get a fair trial".

From Wikipedia:

1:14 His head and [His] hairs [were] white like wool, as white as snow; and His eyes [were] as a flame of fire;

"commentators use this passage to argue that Jesus was black, based on the description of his hair as being "like wool," possibly a reference to hair that is tightly coiled, as many people of African descent have.

It's called a Jew fro.
Retards.

They are only figuring this out now? If you look at the bodies of mummies, particulary the faces, they don't have negroid features. Look at the art work of the egyptians, non show negroid features. they were slightly dark skinned, kinda of like modern hispanics in color, but they were not black.

Dude... that stuff just reeks of pseudo-archaeological bullshit.

I know from my own intuitive experiences that more of the story of Scota and the Egyptian connection to the Celts will indeed by revealed. On the Summer Solstice of 2006, I had this dream about Tara and its importance as a sacred site to the healing of our world, of finding unity amongst our current state of chaos:
Intuitive experiences? Dreams?

After the dream ended, I thought about the meaning of the Celts, of the ideal of striving for unity, of Brehon laws, of equality. I realized that my own name is significant in this symbolism—my last name was originally Adam before my great-grandfather changed it, which means the red earth, the first people, all five races in one. And then I realized as well the connection of Tara. Backwards, Ta-ra becomes Ra-Ta, the priest from an Egyptian past-life of Edgar Cayce who assisted in building the pyramids.
Atlantis? Edgar Cayce? This is an example of a certain type of pseudo-historical research know as pyramidiocy.

http://skepdic.com/pyramidiocy.html

Is he indeed the soul of my son yet to be born, a connection tied together in totality at last for myself in my own personal journey as well?
Whoever wrote this new age drivel is a certified barking moonbat.

You don't have those?:icon_conf

I do all the time.
Sure, dreams are fun and all, but do you really think they're a good source for archaeological and historical fact?

You crack open a history book, find a passage which describes Cleopatra as a time-travelling tranny from 1970's Las Vegas. You check the reference and find the author has listed...

-A dream I had one night after I ate a meatball sub and washed it down with a bottle of Cuervo Gold.

Is this sound historical research?

Did I ever say it was? I just said that was some info that I didn't have time to go through. I didn't know if they talked about what I wanted it to. I'll find that info later.

This is not a fact. It's barely even a possibility.

They gotta do whatever they can to add to their historical legacy of George Washington Carver's work with the peanut.
One of the great conspiracies in American history:

In 1895, at the Tuskagee Institute in Alabama, a black man named George Washington Carver developed a new method of soil improvement through crop rotation to end the South African cultural dependence on cotton alone. As a result, Carver came up with hundreds of industrial uses for the peanut.

Meanwhile, one night, he's having a few friends over to his house for dinner. And one of them leans over and says to Dr. Carver, "Excuse me, George? What's that you’re putting on your bread?" Carver says, "Oh, that's nothing but a butter substitute that I made from peanuts. I can't digest all that animal fat, you know." So the other fellow tasted it, and he says, "Hmm…this tastes pretty good, man. Mind if we take a peek at the recipe?" And Dr. Carver says, "Take a peek? Man, you can have it. Who's gonna eat butter made out of peanuts? No, I'm working on a method to compress peanuts into phonograph needles."

So, Professor Carver's two dinner guests Edward "Skippy" Williamson and Frederick "Jif" Armstrong - two white men - stole George Washington Carver's recipe for peanut butter, copyrighted it, and reaped untold fortunes from it. While Dr. Carver died penniless and insane, still trying to play a phonograph record with a peanut.

Martianvirus, desire to believe doesn't replace empirical proof.

The irish aren't a lost tribe of Israel, Jeremiah isn't buried in Ireland, and the pharoahs were stuck in Eqyptian sand.

First, I don't' desire to believe that. Second, I read it somewhere and it was a reliable source. I'll try to find it if I can.

You provided a list of black architects educated by whites who have been dead for 30+ years. So I still don't know how they could possibly build anything then or now either.
