With the wrestling landscape in ruins, I wouldn't mind having a nice nostalgia thread. This thread is for anything ECW related. I'll start the thread with two questions. One is a conversation starter, the other is about the ECW PPV DVDs on Amazon.

    1)

    2) As intimated, I'm going to be getting an ECW pay-per-view DVD off Amazon soon but I'm not sure what PPV to get. There's two I want: Heat Wave 1998 (August 2, 1998 - Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio) and Anarchy Rulz 1999 (September 19, 1999 - Odeum Expo Center in Villa Park, Illinois). Which one should I get?

    Random ECW Videos

I forgot to mention that I want this thread to become the official home of all random ECW videos. I'll post first.

I never got to go to an ECW show, I wish that I did. The only good thing from the WWE-revived version of ECW was the first One Night Stand

although the 2nd one, where RVD cashed in Money in the Bank against Cena was damned good

and of course...everyone loved the obligatory Tommy Dreamer vaginal claw on Francine...

there was also one where he was gonna hit her with the piledriver & her tits fell out of her top. So Tommy, being the gentleman that he is, turned to show her tits to everyone on every side of the ring

as for guys in WWE's Attitude Era who would have been over in ECW...Stone Cold definitely would have. Hell, that's where he refined the Stone Cold persona before going back to WWE

Edge & Christian could have gotten over given their in-ring work.

Stone Cold doesn't count because he was in ECW. He was over too. I wasn't sure about Edge & Christian. I'm going to add The Rock to his list. He definitely would've gotten over.

Yeah, he would have eventually...but when he first started as Rocky Miavia, the fans would have eaten him alive.

I think APA could have gotten over, even though they were essentially a tag team version of SCSA

I just rewatched some APA backstage segments recently. Funny shit. That office gimmick was gold.

This next one's out of left field and he's not an Attitude era WWF guy but I think Diamond Dallas Page could've gotten over based on his wrestling skills.

I think Screamin' Norman Smiley would have been a great addition to the BwO

    Miss the old days...

I know nothing about wrestling now. But 10-12 years ago, it was all about ECW. Some of the best times were seeing events, collecting VHS tapes, and watching late at night.

By the way, forget the second question; I've made my decision. I'm going to get the Anarchy Rulz '99 DVD.

I used to have a descrambler for cable from like 1988 to 1998, and I remember watching the first ECW PPV. I recognized "Paul E. Dangerously", and wanted to see what the other company had to offer (I wrote off WCW when it was still NWA)

I couldn't get through it. I liked the idea, but it was just too low rent to keep my attention.

I never watched the show, and I haaaaaated all the people at WWF (or WCW) people that would chant "ECDUB" all the time. Not because of the company, but the fans were always the "too cool for the room" types, and were irritating.

5 or so years ago, I watched "The Rise and Fall of ECW", and it really opened my eyes to what kind of a company ECW was. I almost wish I had supported them back in the day. I understand that I missed out on being part of something that was revolutionary at the time.

Overall, though, I don't really have a lot of experience with ECW. Now, when the WWE "Invasion" shit happened, I started to dig the ECW people I couldn't get behind before. It's too bad that everything got run into the ground so quickly.

I guess I got nothing else.

Oh, and I hung out with Rhyno. He was cool.

Me and some friends were at a Hooters in Taylor watching the Royal Rumble whatever year that Rhyno was out with his neck issues (2002?). People kept bothering him, even in the bathroom, so he ended up sitting at our table (the girl I went with was friends with the manager, so we were at an employee table) to either hide or look like he was busy, or whatever the hell it was.

On another note, my ex-roommate worked at Gardner White Furniture and was Rhyno's go-to guy for home furnishings.

Yet another guy that WWF/E never did anything with. He and Raven were made after their Hardcore Championship match at Backlash in May 2001. The Hardcore Championship was over too. Not surprising, the writers never let any of those three things go anywhere. At least, not for very long.

Look what I found in one of the ECW on SciFi threads (the one where "ECW" was in the Hammerstein Ballroom).

Taz in his way old wildman get-up, Benoit with a mullet, and a good promo to start it all off by Public Enemy.

What an epic failure they were when they were brought into WWE. They were built for ECW, not either of the "big" shows
