Not usually a fan of breitbart, but this story was on tv news as well. I'm sorry, but a burger flipper getting paid as much as a medical assistant or auto mechanic would distort the economy. Also, it sucks for everyone that good jobs are hard to come by, but it's not a franchise owner's fault that you got a communications degree that you're trying to financially justify.

I dont always read a Breitbart article but when I do there is glaring spelling error in the first paragraph that spellcheck, the reporter, and the editor miss
The entitlement culture has hit the local fast food joint, as strikes and protests are popping up all over the country. So far, non-union workers have walked off the job in New York, Seattle, Detriot, and St. Louis, with low-skill workers demaning $15 an hour and a union from chains like McDonald's, Burger King, Arby's, Jimmy John's, and Domino's Pizza..

I don't always read duplicate threads, but when I do, I make sure to point them out.

Look at that white guilt cow trying to fit in. She sees the ethnic types taking a squat and immediately she apes them without knowing why.

She's like Dian Fossey. She lives and eats with her study subjects.

Give them their raise and then watch them cry about not being able to feed their kids because fast food costs twice as much.

Never gonna happen.

If it did you'd see companies cut the staff
to a bare minimum so people would be
doing the work of 2-3 others by themselves.

It would be an interesting exercise to see one location do it and all of the current employees would end up being replaced by much more competent people who were making $12 working somewhere else.

Replacing people like this:

That poor retard with the glasses next to the brother in the white shirt and ski hat is just glad to be in a school picture with his friends at the prom.

Show them specifically how to be worth $15 an hour to an employer. Inform them that it will require a lot more education and training than most of them have right now. That would be my counter protest, to read off the college transcript of someone within the organization that is making $15 an hour. Show them the difference between where they are, and where their gibsmuhdat sensibilities think they ought to be. Show them it takes more work, and watch them scatter.

Or a $12 Big Mac. And the Dollar Menu becoming the 5 Dollar Menu.

That would price them right out of business and
these big companies are too smart for that.

The easiest controllable business expense is labor.
Just get less people to do more work.

It would be really easy to make a machine to assemble burgers and fries, then bag it and hand it to the customer. These lowbrows better watch their mouths or they will get the boot. Watch enough How It's Made machinery and you see minimum wage workers are lucky to even have a job.

And the fact these people are demanding $15hr dont understand that concept nor do they understand that their hourly wage is paid for by the products that they sell. Someone with a fully functioning brain could easily figure out that the only way to pay the rate they want is by laying off 2/3 of the staff (which wont happen because it would make it impossible to deliver customer service to the standard the company demands) or by drastically increasing the price of the products (which again won't happen)
Then again if they had fully functioning brains they wouldn't be working in fast food

Hypothetical scenario. But yes, biggest expense for virtually any company is labor and also the easiest to cut.

The McD here already has a machine tied into the POS that grabs cups, dispenses ice, and fills the correct drink. The frying machines even dunk and lift up the baskets automatically now, and some locations are outsourcing the drive through order taker to people on Montana. I use Google wallet to pay, and the McCafe machines brew coffee/blend ice/add flavors to their frappucino knockoffs, so most of these strikers are really only an app away from being unemployed as it is. Expensive labor is what made Hyundai spend a few hundred million on automating things usually done by people in their Alabama plant (such as complete dashboard installation, wiring, and most interior quality checks), and $15/hr labor would do the same with automation in fast food.

Not to mention those cars made by Hyundai in Alabama are superior to anything made by the union thugs.

Yep McDonald's is pretty idiot proof... like if you have to eat somewhere (from a food safety stand point) they are your best bet when compared to say Burger King or KFC... Taco Bell would be a good second choice as well.
