A 19-year-old UL student was arrested on charges of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile by campus police for allegedly being involved in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old, law enforcement officials said.

According to UL Police Chief Ray Lucas, ULPD officers responded to a domestic dispute at a UL dormitory in the 600 block of East University around 4:21 a.m.

Allison Rae LeBlanc, 19, is facing 13 counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

She was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

The 16-year-old, whose name was not released, was charged with disturbing the peace by fighting and was released into the custody of a parent.
In Louisiana, the age of consent is 17.

District Attorney Mike Harson said in the eyes of the law it is illegal for a person over age 17 to have sex with someone under that age — even if both parties are teenagers in a relationship.

But cases of consensual sex between teenagers are rarely reported, he said.
“I think law enforcement has always been interested in these offenses when we know about them,” Harson said. “But the key thing is that it has to be reported.”

Lucas said LeBlanc is facing 13 counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile as a result of the outcome of the officer’s investigation.

“Our investigation concluded that there was a sexual relationship between the two,” Lucas said.

He confirmed that LeBlanc is a current student at UL and that officials with the Office of Student Affairs have been made aware of the arrest.
“When a student is arrested, we contact student affairs,” Lucas said.
Lucas said that if her alleged behavior is found to be violation of the university’s student code of conduct, she could face a disciplinary action.

Seems like they have stupid laws with regards to this case, but like the Jena Six case, she probably won't be charged that severely in the end. Big headlines now that she is facing all those felonies, small story later when she pleads guilty to a couple misdemeanors and gets probation. At her age, she should have tried to find a millionaire radio host to date anyways.
