I've been thinking about the term 'social class' and how it is still used in America to define money. The concept of a class seems something you are bound to, yet I've been everything from nearly homeless to poor to middle income in a period of less than 10 years.

Does the term 'social class' still belong in the 1st world? And should it still apply to monetary worth / income?
