61 in a 55? I thought cops pretty much let it slide as long as it's not ten or more mph over the limit. That's fucked up. I guess the county needs the extra money.

I just got a speeding ticket for 10 miles over the limit...

The fine: $25

The "processing fee": $115

Why do they even bother going through the "law enforcement" charade? Just set up roadblocks and shake everybody down for cash.

The state, you mean.

I've never had a ticket either. 1 "traffic warning" when I was going 33 in a 25 (the only reason I was going THAT slow was from slamming the brakes after seeing the cop hiding in the parking lot)

There's a neighborhood in the suburbs of Oklahoma City called "Nichols Hills." A rich area full of uptight assholes, and the "cops" that patrol the area are DICKS. I know people who have gotten pulled over for going 27 in a 25. Such fucking horseshit.

Processing fees go directly to the municipality if I remember correctly and the state and the issuing municipality share the actual fine. I got a ticket in Virginia for disobeying a street sign. $30 fine, $75 processing fee. Total horseshit.

I got pulled over twice today ...

For running 2 red lights and cutting someone off and later in the day for not having a seat belt on. What's funny is neither cop asked for my license and just talked to me for a bit.

That has nothing to do with this subject except that cops are involved in both.

QFMFT X2.

I avoid that 'hood like the plague. When I do have to go through, I set my cruise at 25MPH. Their cops are some sneaky bastards, too.

I always thought they would give you 5mph for speedo error. 2mph has got to within the tolerance of the speedo.
