FU to the third world piece of shit that developed some security program I can't get off my system, even though I did not want it. The damned "click here to install a security update" balloon keeps appearing, even though I removed every program possibly associated with this piece of shit software. I wish I could just get the set up back to when I first got the machine, willing to take a loss at losing some stuff I could get back later, or live with losing. Damn you for your useless life and sitting around just working on making up this stuff.

Thanks for the advice gents, and while the one site did detect and destroy a lot of things I didn't even know I had, two remain that I have no control over, and its one that has the annoying pop up. I also tried the system restore function a few times, but it stated that it couldn't go back to a previous point although I tried several. Guess I got screwed good. Thanks for the help though.

Look in the program files and delete the whole program.

Tried that too, my man, and the f-ing thing still pops up in an attempt to get me to the site and download their shit program. I tried to permanently delete it from the toolbar and the quick access buttons, but the thing just ferments there, with the security warning bubble coming along every so often. I even deleted Internet Explorer and went with Firefox, which does help a biut, but the problem is still there. Wonder how the bastard developed this, with the call to prayer being five times a day and all.....

The last one did the trick, but I'd like to thank you all for your help because each one got rid of stuff I didn't know was there eating away at my system. I owe you all a tremendous amount of gratitude for saving my system. Regards, MK/BG

In the future, the easiest and most efficient way to deal with that problem is to do a google search for the exact name of the program that installed itself on your computer and you'll find a bunch of links to free programs made specifically to deal with wiping it, and only it, out. If it's on your computer driving YOU crazy it's also pissing off thousands of others and someone within a short amount of time will find a cure for it and make it available. It's happened to me from time to time.

You know what makes me want to :arrrh::arrrh::arrrh::arrrh::arrrh::arrrh:?

Pop-ups THAT ADVERTISE POP-UP BLOCKERS.

No need to elaborate on the reason.

Is it Norton (not Jimmy, but the Security Software)? If it is you can go to their site and run the un-installer or if that doesn't work re-install the whole program and then un-install it again.

I was curious about Lil Jimmy's constant talk of broad backed trannies, and well....

if you happen upon a site with supposedly really good above average free vid clip downloads, beware. CounterSpy and all my fellow travellers who responded here are the only reason my system got saved. Really screwed up using porn as bait to fuck up another guy's system, talk about preying on a guy's weaknesses.....
