Yeah their big thing now looked like some faggoty gyro. I remember when they did the wraps, they weren't bad. The smell when I walked in the place brought back good memories of when I could eat that shit all the time and not worry about the consequences.

Sonic is pretty damn good. I just wanted my double jalepeno cheeseburger and limeade. Flying burrito is local, like Qdoba or Chipotle. I had a feeling something stupid like this was going to happen because of how hungry I was.

We've had Arby's here for over 30 years.

Sonic just started opening up around here a few years ago but I saw them in Delaware and Maryland when I used to work down there all the time.

Never heard of the other joint.

You should try Kelly's Roast Beef in Bawferston... basically Arby's modeled themselves after them. Only difference Kelly's fuckin rules an doesn't give me the shits.

If Kelly's was so good, why aren't they all across the country like Arby's?

I could kill for a lahge with sauce and cheese and a small onion ring right now... feck...

    http://www.kellysroastbeef.com/

They tried expanding a few years ago (2 more stores I think)... but you have to remember Boston is pretty small compared to say NYC or Chicago... plus the roads are fucked... the stores that survived are pretty much situated on route 1. And even then like the one in Saugus sometimes you have to drive by it... cross over to the other side then hit it.

Misery was the health inspector when they did the Saugus one and I seem to remember her saying it was like 20 mil to build that store like shit 15-20 years ago?

Liked getting me some Arby's 5 for $5 roast beef sandwiches way back in the day. Until one day left one out and saw that the roast beef turned into this weird mutant thing. Then they switched the pricing to $5 for one sandwich. Fuck that, they could keep it.

I hate Arby's, but I do remember friends getting 5 for 5 beef and cheese sandwiches. Then, just like you said, they stopped that shit and brought the prices way up.

My question is....how long ago was that?

That's right up there with BK having $0.99 Whopper deals every few months for YEARS, and now the best they do is 2 for 6.

And I remember when gas was $.79 a gallon. It's about three times that now, so Burger King is pretty close in its pricing.

BK was doing the deal into the 2000s, though. Gas was not $.79 a gallon in 2004.

The point was prices rise over time. They also offer better deals when business is slow, just like other businesses do. Maybe their sales were down back then and are doing better now. The same reason airline tickets are higher around Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The point was, I wasn't asking that question.

The point is, that's the answer you got. Just like when you go to Burger King looking for two Whoppers for $3, sometimes you don't get what you were looking for.

Economics? Maybe you should attend that class since you don't seem to understand why a company doesn't offer the same incentivized deals forever.

I wasn't wondering why, dipshit, I was asking if anyone remembered when it stopped happening. Maybe you should attend a reading class.
