Very powerful indictment of the Reagan/Bush policy of support for Saddam Hussein during and after his worst atrocities. Too bad this video wasn't promoted before the war started - maybe a few more people would have been skeptical of the new propaganda by way of comparison with the old propaganda.

It would have only solidified the movement into Iraq. But this wasn't needed for the invasion. The biggest point here is that these accusations go back much further than Bush, from people that would like these videos and quotes to disappear.

Wow, and to think he and Bill were in office for eight years after this video presentation.

Why didn't they do fuck about it? Remember Somalia? They pulled the fuck out after eight guys were killed. And then they sent a cruise missle to blow up a "weapons plant" in Iraq that was actually a medicine factory.

They were inept during this time period against Terrorism and allowed it to fester and grow.

These politicians fucking suck. They say that someone before them fucked up and act like they will do something about it, but then they don't do fuck themselves just like the people before them.

Fuck Gore and fuck his "Internets" in his "lock box."

Yea and Clinton condemned Bush 41 for his China stance after Tiennamen yet right after election Bill bent over backwards for the same chinese leaders that crushed the protest.

The Clinton administration did everything opposite of what they said.

It was more than 8 guys, Sam. Eighteen in the Battle of Mogadishu alone. Not only did they pull out at the worst time, they never gave the task force commander the support he asked for. One fucking AC-130 gunship, as had been requested, would have COMPLETELY changed the situation in that shithole.

That makes no sense. Everything Gore refers to in the video happened prior to Gulf War I - the terrorism, human rights abuses, and the use of WMD all occured with the implicit blessing of Reagan and Bush. It doesn't follow logically that atrocities comitted by an ally in 1988 justify an invasion in 2003. The only people who should want this video to disappear are those who supported both US policy in Iraq in the '80's AND the invasion.

Nothing more than politicking. The same game is always played: one side attacks the other, gets in, and has selective amnesia as to its campaign content. Remember, Clinton and Gore supported the Kosova Liberation Army, a declared terrorist organization. Most Republicans correctly opposed that war (the Serbian bombardment) as it had nothing to do with our national defense and went so far as to support a terrorist organization that was linked with bin Laden.

Remember as well that the Bush and Clinton families are extremely close. Not only do the two present each other with awards, but they vacation together and Barbara Bush went so far as to call Bill Clinton her 'son.' Both parties are led by the same force that will have managed fights over who gets title and fame. At the end of the day however, they are in the exact same business of fucking us out of our money and rights.

It doesn't follow logic to disregard everything through the 90's. Ties to terrorism, WMD's. Allowing, not allowing weapons inspectors. Well, dude, we use to support him. We shouldn't go after Bin Laden because we supported him against the russians? Enemy of our enemy. Not defending any prior friendly relationship we had with him but the policy in the 80's and policy for invasion weren't the same.

Do you think these things ended after the Gulf War? The reason it would have solidified the movement is the fact that no one could have argued that he stopped his shit. It was nothing more than another Clinton administration offical to charge these things to Saddam, before and after the Gulf War.

The Reagan administration played Iran and Iraq like puppets. Stringing it out over 8 years was genius.

Bush 41 was correct not going to Baghdad during Gulf War I. The idea was to keep Iraq weak but maintain it as a buffer against Iran.

Bush 43 was correct invading after 9/11. Secure U.S. future oil needs and make an example of Saddam for not playing ball after 10 years dicking around on sanctions. If the asshole had just swallowed his pride, complied with sanctions and given U.S. some Oil concessions he'd still be alive.

The difference is that no one argued that the reason to go after Bin Laden was that he killed a lot of Soviets. We went after Bin Laden because his group killed a lot of us.

With Iraq, we were told that an invasion was justifed (partly) because Saddam used WMD, leaving out the crucial fact that he did so with our support.
