I hate that that B.D. Wong is only brought back as a means to aid some other character's development. I'd have liked to have seen his Strange elevated to a regular and participating in these interactive character arcs like in Mr. Robot.. What a shame we didn't get that here.

Also, while it sounds ridiculous to say they've tried, they've finally given up any previous pretense that they weren't just copying Nolan's films wholesale now.

I only saw the first couple of shows but I hear that Catwoman became a big fat pig?
Looks okay here but did she start out svelte?

Yeah, she chunked up quite a bit from when this started. Still would fuck silly, but it's obvious the girl loves her twinkies.

Saw the last two. Both uptick the violence to graphic versus cutaway and implied as before, and we get youknowwho at the end.

The penultimate one was all Nolan Dark Knight Rises, and leaves open a thread to more with Bane and Ra's' daughter, but we don't get it.

Finale jumps ahead a decade Nolan-esque with a new actress trying to do Selena as Dubrovna did, but Taylor and Smith as Penguin and Riddler were more '66 in comedic antics (Smith was more his own take than anyone else's, but Taylor seemed forced to match the comic/Meredith look). Cameron Monaghan was tasked with playing more of a Nicholson-esque Joker. Actually, he pulled off a better, and more original take, of him in his previous appearance before falling in the vat. If you liked his final evolution as the Joker before, or his original as his brother (both best in the series), this might seem a letdown.

Really, no stops were pulled out for the finale insofar as any old faces coming back like Mooney, Strange, Scarecrow, Hatter, Freeze etc. In fact, it seemed more done on the cheap with the few effects and reuse of all existing sets (as was the rule this last season). Aside from them still not being allowed to call Joker or Batman by name, it was disappointing in that way. It really should have been two hours and a free-for-all.

I felt let down by the finale, to be honest. I think they should have ponied up the bucks to do some of the characters right. And
the actress they put in as grown up Selina, she didn't look much like kid Selina. But she did okay with it. And her ass was better, as Carmen was starting to pork up this season.

I got the feeling from this that it was this or no finale at all. It had a rushed smell of death to it.

In the opening shot of the new Selina, they coiffed her hair, tweaked her eyebrows, and shot her from an angle that looked a bit like Dubrovna, but largely gave up afterward. What bugs me most, is the current story from the producers was that they were gonna let her play older, but that Dubrovna said she didn't want to. That was laughable. They must have put the screws to her over the weight gain and the inaugural gown the script called for her to be in. I feel bad for her. She's still coulda been aged up.

Incidentally, they didn't even pony up for cheap makeup to age anyone ten years. They gave some grey to Pertwee, but just a gay porno mustache to McKenzie as Gordon which he shaves off after a couple scenes. That Donal Logue keeps the hat, hair length, and color was ridiculous. It's like no one cared enough about this being the series finale; not even the cast.

Exactly. Across the board agreed.
