At $2.8 million per job it sounds like a great investment.

The only good that can come from all this would be the voters wising up and no longer accepting this bullshit. I'm not holding my breath though.

It is absolutely mind boggling that liberals don't understand why tea-partiers and libertarians don't want the government to have any more money.

Seriously. If you give to the right corrupt group, you can turn 2 grand into $43 million. These guys got a much better deal on their laundering than did Solyndra. I suppose Bank of America is going to get the granddaddy of them all for all the money they dump into the regime.

I'm sure a deal was made a few weeks back when Warren Buffett put 5 billion into Bank of America

I wonder if this is the same Warren Buffett who owes a billion in taxes

Of course not, it's about the "Green Economy" ideology, "creating or saving" jobs is just a number they can tack onto campaign slogans.

If this is intentional China is really fucking smart. I think they are pushing us into a green technology race knowing that they can create the technology for a fraction of the price we can. So we'll keep throwing money at it, going further into debt and giving them more of a financial advantage over us... and in the end they will still build the technology cheaper and better than we would.

Let them fucking have it and then we'll buy it for dirt cheap... or copy it after they have perfected it. This is such an enormous waste of money.

I agree, but it definitely not China pushing us into it. It is liberals who believe that no matter what the cost, we must have a "green economy".

Then why does Obama always talk about how green energy is about jobs?

Why compete in a market we can't win? Sure with gubment rebates for solar panels and new energy alternatives sound great but as soon as that gets taken away who wants to pay for an overpriced gimmick?

My guess is that the extremely heavy flywheels are spun-up during the day (like a gyroscope) and then they use the still-spinning wheels to generate power at night.

    Yup:

I've never understood the fascination, personally. To me it's like "Storing energy" by carrying a big rock to the top of a building and dropping it.

I think it kinda makes sense. If there excess electricity being produced by the solar panels, let them use it to spin up the flywheels, then when night falls, let them generate as much power as they can until they slow down and stop.
