This is going well:

I agree with The Quartering that Blue Check Marks should shut the fuck up if they use their employers and positions as that company to get verified. Keep your shit opinions and creepy jokes to yourself and talk about films. If you don't want to risk your employer getting pissed keep an anonymous account. Having said that James Gunn should be brought back. That Rick and Morty guy is another story.

Now I have to go google The Quartering and find out what happened to Rick and Morty.

First, I'm reposting this because I love it.

Second, my apologies, I talk like everyone knows what I'm talking about. The Quartering is a YouTube Commentator
Here is where he talks about the verification.

This probably needs to be moved to the CE forum because it might get a bit too political. But it's funny that Pratt complains about "certain groups" causing trouble for people and risking their livelihoods. Clearly he's not describing the legions of pink hats that want to label every counter protester a Nazi and have them fired and blacklisted from society. The door swings both ways.

You put "certain groups" in quotes as if Pratt called anyone out. He didn't even use that phrase in his message. It's this kind of bullshit that is the entirety of the problem. He specifically says that mob mentality and character assassinations are taking place "across the political spectrum." And you jump right into it, proving his point by making up your own narrative of what he said without actually reading it. Stop. Read. Think for yourself.

By the way, Chris Pratt is probably one of the more conservative actors working in Hollywood. He's a staunch 2nd amendment supporter and is very Christian.

Chris Pratt is just speaking from what he knows. I like him enough to believe he's genuine and probably knows James Gunn isn't a pedo despite having nothing else in common with him. I think this whole nonsense of firing over tweets is ridiculous. Am I happy when I liberal gets fired over bullshit? Of course I am. I just think it's time everyone recognizes how toxic this mentality is.

Doesn't matter how many of their own get their dicks blown off in the politically-correct minefield the left has created, they won't stop, and they can't stop, the career-ruining Frankenstein's monster they've created.

Better 100 "good people" get wished away into the cornfield, than a single alt-right Nazi like James Woods goes unblackballed.

If Gunn posted Pro Trump tweets, all of them (with maybe the exception of Pratt, though I doubt he would publically differ with the rest of the cast.) would have supported Disney's decision. The End

I don't think Disney had to fire Gunn, but Gunn stood up to be counted among the people who built the world we are now living in and it bit him in the ass, so I don't feel sorry for the guy.

It's the only way they survive. Understanding things as they actually happen takes a back seat to imagining what reactions would happen on the other side.

Don't be obtuse. You're going to tell me the cast would have supported Gunn and even a 10th of the people who signed the petition in support of him would have done so if it was pro-trump tweets he was making that led up to this? Yes, if that was the case, he would get support from the right, which is exactly the point. Most of this support/condemnation is along Pro/Anti Trump lines.

What I’m saying is I don’t care about alt reality Republican James Gunn and neither should anyone else. Whatever their reasons for supporting him publicly like this, they are. That creates a massive and continuing publicity nightmare for Marvel and Disney. THAT’S the story.

Oh believe me, I don’t care about any of this. But there is a political element to the story that is partially driving the support he is getting. This isn’t like butthurt fanboys calling for Rian Johnson’s head because Rey wasn’t a Skywalker or Luke wasn’t exactly as he was in the OT.

So, odds Gunn comes back? I’d put it at a strong 80%.
I don’t know if there is anything to these sources or if this is fake news designed to put pressure on Disney.

https://variety.com/2018/film/news/guardians-of-the-galaxy-cast-james-gunn-support-1202889736/

“Sources say there has been a growing feeling that Gunn could be reinstated, especially because Marvel and Disney have been unusually radio-silent on who could replace him since the firing. Production is slated to start at the top of 2019, and following Gunn’s removal from the film, it was thought that Marvel and Disney would need to move quickly to replace him, since the replacement would likely have to do some work on the script.

With Walt Disney chairman Bob Iger out on vacation currently, insiders believed a decision would not be made until he returned to work. Variety has reached out to Disney for comment on the cast’s statement.”

Can't we just send everyone with a politics hat to a concentration camp to have them removed with shotguns? Pink or Red?
