Buddy of mine almost got locked up at the London eye for having a kershaw leek on him, the cops took it and read him the riot act

    "Assisted opening" = bad
    Fixed blades = bad
Blades that "lock" open = bad
Multitools lay in a gray area, but a 2" blade is considered "reasonable", especially for a tourist on holiday

Honestly I don't know, I buy it in 500 round bulk packs and I forget what I paid

There's a bunch of sites that list ammo costs per round and who's selling it. I'd review the seller and the ammo online before I'd order. If I were you I'd just pay whatever/round you can get locally and shoot it to make sure you like it before you jump in with both feet and buy 5000 rds. I have very little experience with 9mm.

Shipping is the issue, unless it's free shipping bulk ammo is heavy, I always add shipping to the price when I compare prices online to local prices

I'd buy cheap ball ammo like Winchester until your pistol is broken in. I know my sig liked brass cases over steel cases until it was broken in.

And id stay with jacketed rounds and stay away from rln etc...

I'd only get 500 or so to start with. Shop rounds around here are pretty much full retail all the time. Sometimes I can get lucky and find a good deal at Walmart.

Is CCI Blazer any good? I only know CCI's .22 reputation.

It's garbage, so bad that our indoor rage bans its use. For a new gun I would stick with factory brass cased loads at least for a few hundred rounds, then try weird cheep ass shit, I've got a bag full of "smokie joes" (lead reloads that are insanely dirty) that I fart around with but they are so shitty I can't even get them on paper at 10 yards but they are fun because they smoke like a black powder when you shoot them, I also have a case of 1000 Russian steel cased 9mm still sealed in there tuna can "in case of emergency" but I wouldn't shoot them on a regular basis, my poor wife is going to have to call ordnance disposal if I keel over dead.

.22 CCi is great center fire no so much

This. Unless I'm grabbing 1000 rounds, Walmart and other brick and mortars are a better deal for smaller lots because the shipping is stupid overpriced.

CCI Blaser Brass is good shit, but the aluminum cased stuff not so much.

Falldog, check out SGAmmo.com - they've been running some pretty damn good ammo specials lately.

I've never used the brass stuff only the aluminum and it never ejected correctly

Most aluminum cased ammo sucks, not just CCI.

FYI, CCI makes Speer, and it's the same parent company as Federal. I use Speer Gold Dot exclusively in my handguns, and my AR-15.

Guns and ammunition seem like a poor choice when it comes to trying to save money. You want/need it to work the first time everytime.

Agreed, but there's nothing wrong with using cheap ammo for the range or whatever, but within reason of course. For example, if you need to tap the spent cases out of a revolver with a dowel, that's a bit much.

When it counts, cost is not a factor. I have the primary defense weapons loaded with Gold Dots, Critical Defense, etc

Range day! (Who's a dirty bitch?)

Just fyi, I'm shooting the hell out of the Federal aluminum .45 ($30/100 at wally world) and pretty sure I'm at least 600-800 rounds in and not a single failure. I can't tell a difference between it and brass Sellier Bellot.

Weird in a good way today -

Was mostly single handed "quick sight acquisition + double tap" drills and I out shot by a fair margin my two hand holds. 100% center mass hits with the single hand, and maybe 90% two handed. Still don't know what I'm doing wrong besides thinking too much, but I'll take today's results just fine, thank you very much. [IMG]

Worked out the kinks on my PF940 Glock G22 build; cycles correctly, sets the striker and trigger functions correctly now. Able to detach the slide from the frame now as well. Next; pick up some 40 cal ammo and hit the range with it. Looking forward to it.

I was wondering how you were coming along in your gunsmithing, have you had a chance to shoot your AR yet?

Not yet, but hopefully soon. I've got to get my buddy to come to the range with me. Be better to sort of slide in behind him, as I'm not technically kosher with regard to permits & shit. One of the downsides to building 80's, you don't get paperwork showing the gubmint that it's cool. They tend to get twitchy with guys with undocumented toys.

That sucks, seems you might have it worse than us folks on the west coast. I'm able to drive 10 minutes to my local outdoor range and fire everything I own if the mood strikes me.
