It has been talked about sometime now how much a bother it is to do a show on air. And now that has been illuminated by Danny and Mars fighting over converting a digital to analog signal losing clarity for their apple TVs. Listeners called in saying how they have gotten progressively more negative and sarcastic and cynical by listening.

So has the show made you more or less positive or negative?

I don't know. I started listening to the show in high school, but I've always been cynical and negative, so I don't really know how much this show affected my development. I've become a lot more negative of the show if that means anything. I would say that Ron and Fez, overall, probably "influenced" me more.

I definitely have a more cheery and optimistic attitude for having listened to the O&A show for all these years. The show has taught me that when life hands me lemons, I should pound those lemons into the ass of an invalid with a mallet.

Smiley face.

This is a weird one. I've always been a positive guy, sort of apologetic for everything, people would walk over me too. I was definitely a push over. It has been kind of a transformation of being more cynical, and maybe witty with jokes, not copying Jim or Ant of course. But I like this beaming confidence. I make my friends laugh a lot now, and I love snarking different things with them. Hell, I got banned from my friends Nintendo community for trashing their E3 conference. Nintendo fanboys are horrible....

I'm saying I like it, it's what I needed in a way.

It's made me less tolerant of douchebags who are filled with their own deluded sense of entitlement.

So when did you stop listening to the show?

I really don't think OnA are negative or cynical. A cynical person is someone who refuses to see value in things that have value. They don't do that, in fact they often go too far with all the praise and ass-kissing for the things and people they love. And they are also pretty outspoken about how much they appreciate what they have.

Just because someone points out things that don't have value, or laughs at stupidity and mediocrity, that doesn't make them cynical. A cynical person mocks for the sake of mocking. And does so maliciously, not with a wink (the way Jimmy sometimes fake-trashes stuff).

Used to effect me negatively on a subconscious level. But then I realized that not everything is shit and worth ranting about, so whenever they get overly "fuck everything" I'm able to combat it on my own and know that that's just them. I still enjoy the show for its comedic value, but I don't enjoy the angry tirades nearly as much as I used to.

I immediately equate positivity with rubes and retards. Show's fault? Yeah probably.

I think I've always had a shitty outlook on things. Now I'm just more likely to express it instead of keeping to myself.

You just can't be a postive person if you buy into all the complaining that these guys need to do to keep the show entertaining. It's clear that the hosts know how to keep a certain distance from negativity away from the show, then again they have some money that enables them to more easily escape things.

This is why I truly hate when they bring the behind the scenes complaining to the air...at least when they beat it to death and/or not keep it funny.

that's why I made this thread. http://www.wackbag.com/showthread.p...try-is-killing-the-show?p=4267092#post4267092

It led me to meet a robot named Norm, so I'm very positive.

I listen solely for the laughs. The second I hear whining I'm out. Nothing gets me more irritated than hearing people bitch about a predicament they are in that is easily solved or has an exit.

Shit on the pot or eat it or whatever the saying is.

Or smoking it, getting shitfaced on it.

I made the mistake of getting a Haitian tranny on Jimmy's advice, so I'm definitely more positive now.
Why would you shit on perfectly good pot?

Not to say I don't like or enjoy the show now, but I wish they would have the comics on consitently like they used to. IMO the show is much better with Bobby, Patrice, Vos, DeRosa etc. They're the reason I got into the show and the reason I still listen (along w/ Jimmy and the countless other comedian appearances)
