Great episode. I can't get enough of the behind the scenes stuff. To me, this is even a better showcase for the league than the Winter Classic itself. Hockey players are easily the most likeable pro athletes. I loved seeing the fallout from the Anisimov rifle celebration and the locker room afterwards. Watching Giroux take those concussion tests with the colored dots was fucking depressing.

MVP of the episode: Bryzgalov

Oh, and how do you not like Ryan Callahan? I'd take that kid on my team any day of the week.

Bryzgalov will end up owning this series by the end of it. He's like Joe Rogan with a Russian accent.

I demand clips as soon as they're available. The only thing I've heard of him is after the 8-9 lost to the Winnipeg Jets (Fuck you again, ASG.). That was the interview where he said "I have zero confidence in myself right now" and "I'm terrible". I've never heard an athlete dish like that before. I want to see more of him.

I did chuckle a little bit when a few of them busted Anisimov's balls at dinner the next night.

Hockey players are very interesting athletes, and I think only HBO can pull something like this off. It just sucks that it's only a four-episode thing. Judging by the first episode, there needs to be more.
