4 years ago this month, @NeonTaster started Half in the Wackbag and set me on a path that damaged my social life, my work life, and had my wife wondering what the hell was wrong with me when she woke up at 3am to find me watching What to Expect When You're Expecting with @LiddyRules

This has been the year of the great HitW slowdown, driven by changes in the lives of many of the folks who used to do it.

Liddy has a #SecretGirlfriend and has been working on...working or something. Neon stops by to drop off a movie trailer every couple days, then scurries back to Twitter to battle SJW's or whatever. @whiskeyguy works every day but Sunday and can't ever seem to get anyone to do Point Break with him. @HandPanzer traveled the Earth, scaring his pal Piggy half to death in the process. @Neckbeard has sunk himself into his new job as Pepe's official spokesperson on Reddit. And of course @Bill Lehecka 's issues have been well documented.

Can we bring the band back together? Can we recruit new people? Can I ever get @Stormrider666 to do a movie with us? Can HitW be saved? Probably not, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Behold, HitW 2.0!

HitW 2.0 - We do BIG Movies!

Back in the day when we were doing 1-2 movies a week, debates sprang up as to which movies were HitW worthy. It's always been my belief that you can have fun goofing on just about any movie, while others think HitW should be reserved for truly terrible movies. Over the past few years, as folks like Red Letter Media, Screen Junkies, HISHE, and CinemSins have looked to add more content, they've begun picking on bigger and better movies, and that's what we're going to do in HitW 2.0. How big? Try the 3 biggest movies of all time:

Star Wars Episode VII - The Force Awakens
Avatar
Jurassic World

In an attempt to beat Plinkett to the punch, Star Wars Episode VII will be the first Big movie that we do.

A) What days work best for you?
B) I would like to do more 80s shlock, like that cop who became a sushi chef.

I think Avatar is definitely a good one to do. There are also several movies that passed us over like Seventh Son, the Last Witch Hunter, and a couple of others I can't remember at the moment. October is going to be a bit iffy for me but in general I would definitely like to get back into things.

HitW 2.0 - Wednesday Night Schlock with @LiddyRules

Liddy seems to be free most Wednesdays, so when he's free, that's when the Magic Schlock Happens!

Wednesday Night Schlock can be anything and everything, but here are some of the things you might see:

  • A movie from the YouTube or Netflix Wheel of Doom - yes, both will be rebuilt!
  • The NEW Amazon Prime Wheel of Doom, now with 100% more schlock!
  • An episode from Agents of SHIELD, Real Rob, Fuller House, or any other horrible TV show we can find
  • That season of Dexter everyone talked about!
  • A schlocky movie from the Master List

The Netflix Wheel of Doom

The Amazon Prime Wheel of Doom

Can we make it Wednesday Night shlock?

And shlock is good. Remember the cop who took five minutes getting out of Venetian blinds?

My biggest issue is the scheduling. My only availabilities are Sundays-Tuesdays with some Wednesdays sprinkled in. Plus I typically put my son to bed at 9 and go to bed by 11. It's tough.

Sounds like if we start at 9:30 S-Tu you're probably ok, as long as the movie isn't 2.5 hours long.

Looks at Sex and the City 2...

Shit.

SatC2 is two and a half hours long?
What the fuck? Did they also have a big CGI fight at an airport scene or something? What the hell do you need to go over in a sequel to a movie about a TV show?

I may not have been there, but I watched the film based on your recommendation and it did not disappoint.

My schedule is tight, @Pigdango, but I'm good for the occasional HitW. Thursday through Saturday is best for me.

Sure. But are we doing good movies now? Star Wars wasn't exactly horrible.
Yeah. I wouldn't mind doing Point Break (though our schedules don't mesh), but Star Wars? I'm not going to stop it, but I'm not going to get excited about it.

Sorry, sorry. Rebuild. We're rebuilding.

Point Break I'm definitely interested in doing.
