HitW HitW Movie Suggestion Thread

When are we going to do Solo: A Solo Wars Solo starring the guy from Cheers and Vision with a lot of scars on his face?

I will cancel plans now to be a part of that trainwreck.

Do you guys think "The Bodyguard" with Whitney Houston is HitW-worthy?
It came to my mind lately how dumb the whole premise of the movie was and how much 90s tackiness was in it and I wondered if anyone would stomach it.

I’ve never seen it but I would be willing to give it a go.

Speaking of 90s cultural touchstones, I've never seen The Ghost. I wonder how well the pottery reference travels in 2018.

I can do any night but Monday or Wednesday. We can pair it with the Fallen Kingdom short film premiering this Sunday.
How about Tuesday. Thursday is Rambo night.

Tonight is “Best movie of 2019” night.

Tuesday works.

My movie of the week is Ad Astra. I think I've only seen First Blood in the Rambo saga. I've never seen any Downtown Abbey so maybe I'll see the movie to see what that's like. Oooooo! What an experience that would be! That sounds like quite the lark!

The most recent Rambo is one of the best movies of the 2000’s. I want to see Ed Asner too, but it will be a few weeks before I get to it.

After kind of a crappy summer, fall looks pretty good.

Rambo - in.
Ed Asner - in.
Joker - that’s a no for me, dawg.
Gemini Man - in.
Jay and Silent Bob 2 - in.
Maleficent 2 - probably not.
Zombieland 2 - in.
Current War - in.
Last Full Measure - in.
Termy - in.
Motherless Brooklyn - maybe.
Midway - in.
Doctor Sleep - in.
Ford v Ferrari - maybe.
21 Bridges - in.
Frozen 2 - in.
Knives Out - in.

Going through your list, I realized that there's a lot of "maybe" where "maybe" is short for "probably will for want of anything better to do but I'm not excited about it"

Rambo - maybe
Ed Asner - in
Joker - in
Gemini Man - maybe
Jay and Silent Bob 2 - maybe
Maleficent 2 - no (never saw first)
Zombieland 2 - maybe
Current War - in (if only because I was interested in it then I heard it was terrible then it disappeared and I've been wondering whatever happened to it for the past few years and apparently it's been completely recut)
Last Full Measure - never heard of
Termy - in because I feel compelled to see how they muck it up this time, but zero expectations
Motherless Brooklyn - maybe.
Midway - no, but could find myself seeing it just because. However the first couple of weeks of November have a bunch of crap that might draw me away. Or it might get me into the theater where I often see two movies on the same day. Sometimes I sneak in, and sometimes I don't.
Doctor Sleep - Sold on the hat, aren't you? I want to say "no" but I know you're going to peer pressure me into seeing it.
Ford v Ferrari - in
21 Bridges - in
Frozen 2 - no. But I saw the first one. Sneak in like I did the first one?
Knives Out - in.

Some titles you left out:

Lucy in the Sky - Yes. This is on my most anticipated 2019 overall list.
The Addams Family - No.
Jojo Rabbit - Yes.
The Lighthouse - Yes.
Playing with Fire - Yes.
Last Christmas - No.
The Irishman - Yes.
Honey Boy - Maybe.
Charlie's Angels - No.

I was interested in Lucy and then I saw the reviews and became interested for another reason.

With this disappointing knowledge, I went back through the list of upcoming films and there's really not much to get excited about. Even in December.
