It is my personal opinion that the primary purpose of the chip is to deliver delicious dip flavors to my mouth. Especially chips of the potato variety. (ruffles, wavy lays).

I just finished making my favorite onion dip. Nothing special. One container of sour cream+one packet of onion soup (Lipton is the bessssst). Stir completely and chill for 30-60 minutes. Yummy.

Tell me children. Tell me your ways of dip....

Exactly that way.
I don't like them premade like Axelrod etc.
Oh I do enjoy to change up a chip with a thin pretzel once and a while.

make mine the same way
except i use a packet and a half
i like it a little more oniony

made some last week
don't eat it often
but it's much better than the pre-made shit

as far as the spinach dip
never made it
but a couple of my buddy's wives do
love that stuff
i take the bread bowl that they put it in
and eat that in hunks for a few days

When it comes to Doritos, I love my chili dip.

Take one can of Nally's regular chili.
Cook as normal.
Add one package of Philly cream cheese and a cup of graded chedder.

I also like to add 1/2 tablespoon of vinegar, some garlic powder and a teaspoon of chili power.

Add chopped onions if you like.

Stir well.

Let chill for one hour.

I like making dips a lot but I HATE Lays and Ruffles- too damn salty. I'm like MJ in that I like mixing it up with either pretzels or other crackers and throwing fresh scallions into the onion dip.

I also like taking a small can of Herdez Salsa Casera or Salsa Ranchera and mixing it with an 8 ounce peckidge of fat free cream cheese using an electric beater so it gets really whippy. Serve with tortilla chips and you've got lo cal spicy goodness!

Lipton onion soup mix and sour cream. I dont even chill it for an hour. If the sour cream is cold, I go right at it.

I also like taking a can of spicy chili and mixing it with some velvetta, and cooking it until it gets thick and gooey and then dipping my nachos in it.

My wife makes a dip of cream cheese and salsa whipped together and chilled.
It's great with nachos or the dipping type doritos. You can also serve it with some shredded cheese on top.

I either make the cold, 7 Ingredient variety of dip (Bottom to top Refried Beans - Guacamole - Sour Cream with taco seasoning mixed in - Green Onions - Tomatoes {seeded & cubed} - Shredded Cheddar & Jack Cheese - Olives or Jalapeno Rings)

Or I just make hot refried beans with melted cheddar & jack on top sometimes with jalapeno rings on top.

I use the scoop shaped tostitos as a delivery system for either of these and voila!

Depends. I've been on a veggies with hummus kick lately. I also love the hot, bubbling, crab dip at The Clover Leaf in West Caldwell.

I'll eat just about any dip. Onion, 7 layer, veggie, spinach, artichoke, etc.
