so I got one of those Johnnie Walker Collections: four 200 ml bottles of black/green/gold/blue labels. I know about the ages of each and have read descriptions of how each tastes, but I can't seem to find a consensus on what temperature to drink them at; room temp, chilled, or in the freezer for a day. and is it the same for each or are certain labels better at different temperatures.

    any suggestions?

You get your pizza from Pizza Hut and your chicken from KFC... Don't worry about it. :action-sm

    Depends on your tastes.

I have always put them in the freezer and taken them out an hour or so before I plan to drink it.

Weirdly enough, I like Red better than black but my favorite is Gold.

Blue is supposed to be the best, but i liked gold better.

    From a snob site -

Red, Black - With 3 Ice cubes

    Green/Gold - Chilled

Blue - Out of a diamond chalice at room temperature

I'm aghast at the thought of freezing or fully refrigerating any alcohol that expensive. (except champagne or white wine, which I never drink anyway).

General rule of thumb is the warmer it is (up to a certain point of course), the more you'll taste it. Freezing expensive JW or any whiskey that expensive is akin to adding liquid menthol or ice-brewing it.

The brits have the right idea with certain types of beers, like bitter, 50 - 55 degrees at least. Don't ever fully refrigerate any beer you pay over 60$ a case for.

Perfect but down it in a minute or two.

The only chilling I can think of doing with scotch is with ice cubes. I've never thought about putting scotch in the freezer.

Went to an official Johnnie Walker tasting event a few years back (yay, proud member of the Striding Man Society!). They served everything at room temperature.

If a diamond chalice is not readily handy, then Kate Uptons cunt will suffice.

I believe it was the Townshend in Birmingham. Do they still do those? I haven't gotten any mail about them in years, and all web mentions are from the early 2000s

Room temp is the answer, but red and black are cheap blends, so whatever. Mix with coke.

If you can order that in a public place, no wonder you have it in you to watch movies with gay sounding names.

I'm talking personal/home preference. I don't order that in public.

Ice in scotch is for teenie boppers.

For Johnny Walker it's fine though.

    what about my tacos, dammit?

well, looks like there's a pretty strong agreement on room temperature. I've had black label before, so maybe I'll chill or freeze that just for fun, and drink the others room temp. thanks, guys!

Mix it with Fresca. The aspartame really compliments the scotchy goodness.
