The old X-Com series is on here. For free. And there are links to message boards that tell you how to run those games in a shell so you can actually make them work on a modern machine.

Not to mention all the other old skool games that are on there.

They remove games when developers bitch, but there's a lot of fun stuff on there.

Good link, X-Com is a fucking fantastic game. I still enjoy it but can't find a version that is stable. Hopefully this one is.

I loved this game, I hope this one works for me as well. I have tried others, but they always crapped out.

Go to the links found on the X-Com download page. It'll get you to some message boards, IIRC, that'll have info on how to run X-Com so it'll actually work. It'll require downloading some more programs, like DOS-Box or the like, but it's worth it to me...

BTW, another one of those X-Com "modern" clones is in Circuit City right now. UFO: Extraterrestrials isn't a 1:1 modern version of X-Com, but it doesn't seem too bad.
