Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to establish a class C felony offense, except for certain military and law enforcement personnel and certain gun clubs, for (1) any person or organization to purchase, sell, donate, transport, possess or use any gun except one made to fire a single round, (2) any person to fire a gun containing more than a single round, (3) any person or organization to receive from another state, territory or country a gun made to fire multiple rounds, or (4) any person or organization to purchase, sell, donate or possess a magazine or clip capable of holding more than one round.

CT has the 5th strictest gun laws in the nation according the the Brady Campaign, so when you already have strict gun laws the only thing left is an outright ban.

the saddest part about this is that they are pandering for votes knowing full well an unconstitutional law like this will never get far.

True but if it gets rammed thru it'll be on the books
while the constitutionality of it gets argued in the courts.

This is gonna happen a lot. They have a bunch of dead
kids to use as bait to push this shit thru.

http://k2radio.com/wyoming-lawmakers-propose-gun-protection-legislation/

Several Wyoming lawmakers are proposing legislation designed to protect gun-owners from any potential federal firearm ban. The “Firearms Protection Act” bill, introduced this week, would make any federal law banning semi-automatic firearms or limiting the size of gun magazines unenforceable within the state’s boundaries.

Anyone trying to enforce a federal gun ban could face felony charges under the proposal. It also includes a provision allowing the Wyoming Attorney General’s office to defend any state resident against any federal firearm ban.

Interesting to see if this goes through. Good for Wyoming.

Wasn't the gun John Wilkes Booth used to kill Lincoln a single-round weapon? Indeed it was. Would it have made a difference if that lunatic had walked into the classroom with a bunch of single-round guns? Probably not. He still would have killed the teacher first and then what? Were the 6-year olds going to overpower him before he could grab another one of his guns?

All, except for foreigners. Or anyone who doesn't believe the Earth is 6000 years old. Or anyone who's gay and wishes to have the same rights as straights.

And don't expect abortion rights so much as a minute after the feds stop imposing them.

We do recognize the 10th amendment for sure. But you can sleep better at night knowing that the largest abortion facility in the country is located in Houston...the mega Planned Parenthood abortuary. Nobody really gives a shit, Texas has just chosen not to use any tax dollars to fund them.

As for your 6000 year old earf comment, I have never met anyone who thinks that. There is a very large gay population in Houston, Austin, and Dallas.

Thanks for the stereotype though, it's laughable.

It's not a stereotype, it's an accurate description of religious Republican politicians (except for the 6000 year thing, which was a joke). Texas is lead by religious Republicans, is it not?

Yes, there are Liberal areas and a Liberal minority, but the state is lead by Republicans.

In prison, there are no guns, knives, or sharp metal objects of any kind allowed. Yet, until the prison system decided to start busting up gangs and putting known gang members in isolation in the 90s, prison murder rates were about five times higher than the gun toting outside world's murder rates.

Even now, prisons have about the same homicide rate as the outside. That's how impossible it is to prevent someone from killing another person.

All these bans are a joke. If they want to reduce murder rates, they could go after the organizations that commit most of the murders: gangs. That would work, especially coupled with removing their livelihood by legalizing drugs, gambling and prostitution.

No. Houston has a box eating lezzie as a mayor. Austin has a democrat mayor, Dallas has a democrat mayor, San Antonio has a democrat mayor...you get the idea.

The gov is a Republican, but is really a harmless Methodist, not a Baptist or wacky fundamentalist.

Texas is definitely more "free" than just about any other state that comes to mind.

I'm going to the corner store and getting the largest fountain drink available, which I think is a gallon...holla!
